Sounds like Lebanon better be ready for the pressure today.  Point guard has been very good so far this year but this will be first time they've seen this strategy this year.  Lebanon has been a good pressing team thus far this season.  How does Carter handle the press?  Sometimes pressing teams don't like to be pressed, especially if it slows their rhythm (getting shots up 4 seconds into the possession).

LA held them to 33 points in the second half of regulation play. Other teams may want to study that assuming they have the athletes to do it.

Allblue...nothing to study....friend of mine at the tournament said that Carter missed easy shots and their #2 fouled out......LA had nothing to do with missed layups, that was all on Carter.  He watched White Co. earlier in the day and said they were lucky to beat Hazel Green out of Ala...2 ots

LOL please. LA had nothing to do with it? They took them out of their tempo in the second half and forced them into several mistakes. Carter is good. Carter is fast. But Carter is not very disciplined.

wc had one key player sick against hazel green. was lucky to win. hazel green was good. mercer signee was great. they was big and fast. wc dominated sevier co. 60-49. never was close. wc led by 16 at half and led by as many as 20. really expected them to be better considering they beat maryville. wc plays carter tomorrow. they may be the best team in the state in AA. go warriors. if we win that one maybe we get some respect.

Maryville didn't have their football players for one...

Saw Carter play Hardin Valley the second time at Hardin Valley....AllBlue you and every other Basketball fan are not used to seeing this style so your first impression would be "undisciplined"...believe me when I tell you there is a method to their madness and it is disciplined....can be sloppy at times but what HS team doesn't have games where their sloppy or don't bring their best game...LA is good but Carter hits their layups and big boy #2 doesn't foul out overtime is not in the equation......

lebanon lost to carter 92-81. I really would like to see this Carter team play. Hope they get to the Boro in March. Can somebody that was there give me a recap of the game. Seems like it was close at each of the qtr breaks.

Also what should we expect out of Sevier Co in consolation game tomorrow? Should Lebanon beat them?

So did you see this game? Or are you going by the friend that was there? Most of the shots missed, Carter got the offensive rebounds & put backs because LA's bigs were sitting in foul trouble. So the missed shot excuse is ridiculous. And #2 fouling out,, welcome to high school basketball. Should he be allowed to foul with no limit? 1st half foul count was 15-6 in favor of Carter. Eldridge sat more minutes than #2 & LA still led while #2 was in so that excuse is ridiculous. Carter has a good team & the "system" works for them. When they play a team with contrasting styles then it will come down to who can force the other to play their style. 1ST half was even, 2nd half the pace was controlled mostly by LA until the end of the 4th & Carter forced LA to play faster than they needed to & got the win. Plain & simple.

Good luck Warriors! If you win or its close, a couple on here will have excuses. Foul trouble, missed shots, ball had too much air, ....ect...of course they wont be there to see it but they have a freind. So good luck with the respect thing! You already have the respect of fans that know the WC program.

I'd rather not go there. There were particular scenarios that would have put LA on top too without overtime but that's the way the ball bounces. I'd say Carter and LA are as evenly matched as you are going to get at this point and Carter got the W this time.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • “facts” or better yet ‘opinions’ had been up for weeks/months. that’s not why the thread was deleted. get over yourself.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
