CU06 Posted March 30, 2015 Report Share Posted March 30, 2015 Farragut represented Tennessee HS Baseball well this past weekend at the NHSI Tournament in Cary, NC at the US Baseball Complex. Admirals went 3-1 on the weekend losing 1-3 in the first game to eventual tournament runner-up College Park, CA. In a tournament that featured 16 of the best teams in the country and a multitude of great prospects, the Admirals battled back to beat Lambert (GA) 7-2, College Station (TX) 5-4, and DeSoto Central (MS) 8-7. Scotts Hill swept the #1 team in the poll last week and dropped two spots. Like I said,it means nothing except a little recognition for the kids...it just puzzles me how little responsibility to be accurate some voters' have. Win or lose, I'd love to meet y'all in the finals...lot of verrrrry good teams out this way that don't see it that way though, and I'm sure that you folks have the same problem!! Yes true for us....looks to be about ten teams in state who have a serious shot...just we happened to be two of them...long ways to go just need to bear down and start a Ying our best!! To be fair, I think they gather the votes by Monday and release the poll mid week. Not sure about that. It would help to see a won/loss record for each team when the poll is released. Still, Scotts Hill should not have dropped 2 spots. I do recall in football a couple years ago Moore County was shut out in 2 consecutive ballgames but still received a 1st place vote - go figure!
