Union City versus Mayfield KY 2017

Late 80's for sure. I played on UC team that played st mayfield 1988. (We Lost 14-6 I believe).

We (UC) used to always play Mayfield in Junior High...We played them twice when I was in 7th grade...

The boys from Henry County are for sure pulling for the Golden Tornadoes. Can't wait to hear about that game no doubt it will be a dandy!!!

The more I think about what these 2 return the more confident I am that Union City will win comfortably. Union city returns the farm, outside of Mayfield returning some lineman, and receivers they lose the rest. I don't see a team breaking in a brand new qb,rb, and linebackers posing much threat. Then the next year Mayfield loses their line, so I think Union City wins the next 2 years. Check out bluegrass preps even on there people think Mayfield will be ranked around 5th in 2a this year, which has not been the case over the last 5 or more years when they was always pretty much ranked #1.

I hope it will be a good game. I didn't realize Mayfield was losing so much. Is your head coach still there. Heard rumors he was going to McCracken.

He'll probably be hibernating for couple more weeks, until spring ball kicks off.

UC hasn't had spring ball yet so there isn't much to report. My kid who plays for the middle school said they were waiting on the end of baseball season. So look for next week or the week after to start.

Yes. Coach Bowling is HS track coach too and their season hasn't ended. Plus you have a few on the soccer team. So Spring ball is probably a couple weeks out at the earliest.
