  1. In who's eyes are they diminished? Yours? Hate to break it to you but it isn't done so you can feel satisfied. Do you really think Fowler feels diminished because there is another state champ in another division. You're a clown. one state, ten tournaments, medals for everyone!

  2. There isn't any way to prove that. Just as there isn't any way to prove having 8 divisions would grow the sport. I want one division because I think if they added another division (probably going to be a small school d2) I don't think its accurate or right to say someone who wins the 152 bracket is on par with Logan Fowler, for instance. It diminishes the value of the titles for the kids who ARE the best in the state. One state, one tournament, one title.

  3. If there was 1 division would that help grow the sport? I don't think so. Let me know why I'm wrong. If it just to be like other states, that seems silly.

  4. I think Powell will surprise some this season. They definitely lost some great players, but I think others are ready to rise to the challenge.

  6. Daniel Boone is starting to separate themselves from everyone else in NE TN. They could possibly make another run to the State Tournament. They're blowing people out as of late.

  7. With very few exceptions I was speaking about sports in general but was hoping that would come up. Participation in California has dropped from over 27k kids wrestling in 2013 to just over 19k. A 30% decline in the last 10 years. TN has about 4100 wrestlers for comparison. Tn population 7m Ca population 39m Ca is 5.57 times our size but only has just has 4.7 times our wrestlers. Per capita, we have a higher participation rate than Ca.

  8. MJ has had several dudes at skill positions, including WR. They just chose to never get them the ball. Lot of talent wasted there over the last decade +

  9. Lol. If Greenback athletics are dead, I wouldn't put this one on the fans. And they partially act this way due to the success that Ryan brought to them. They'd treat him like a king, so I'd say he'd love to come back. Successful programs don't, or at least shouldn't, settle for less. A few down years will happen, but to wallow in mediocrity is not what a program like Greenback is about. And it looks like THAT is what the fans believe as well. Because of this they are NOT the laughing stock. They refuse to give in to second best. I have no dog in this hunt and I don't know anything about the coach at all. But if the fans feel he isn't cut out then they should do everything they can to make their voices heard.
