I was being facetious. Anyone who knows anything about high school football in Tennessee knows that Region 3 is one of the weaker regions in 4A. Region 8 may be the only region weaker than Region 3.

That's a tall order to ask of the Governors when going head to head against the top team in Region 3.

I agree. I don't think it should be a given that Maplewood or Tullahoma will make it past the second round. The top four teams have only about a touchdown or two difference between them. On the other hand, I think it is a near given that, as the teams stand now, Region 4 will sweep Region 3 in the first round.

Since you're bringing back a past before any of these players were even in high school, the last time Greeneville faced off against Maplewood at Maplewood the beating was not so bad: 17-7.

No way will there be only two classifications with 16 districts if for no other reason than that would put an average of over ten teams per district. On the plus side, it will go towards making just about every game count .

Likely the first of two meetings between the two teams. One reason I liked the Z-plan: Teams from the same Region would be seeded so they would not meet no sooner than the semifinals, If I recall correctly.

The announcer at Maplewood High School football home games. If he would stick to just calling down and distance rather than spending half the game giving "shout outs" and interjecting unnecessary commentaries the games would be a lot more bearable. I avoid some home games just so I don't have to hear him.

I agree 100% with this assessment.

The principal likely believes in creativity, cooperation and collaboration, all parts of sports. But ultimately sees sports as being a confrontational and combative, where there are winners and losers.

Their entire out-of-region schedule doesn't include any cupcakes.

Neither team is doing well this year. The transfer hurts Marshall County more that it helped Giles. But at this point I don't think it helped Giles County all that much. I think Giles' record is the same with or without Bryce Wallace.

Record-wise, it is the best team at this point of the season.

They may not fall under Metro. But RePublic is consider to be a public school.
