Alcoa moves up to AA after winning back to back state titles on the boy's side, and finally winning one on the girl's side this past yr. I know MLK has a strong program, and I can't wait to see how they will stack up against the best teams in AA.

They were definitely in the top 25. I believe it was around 24th or so, but then again, I could be off. lol

Nope, Alcoa will travel next week regardless. They alternate years in the semi's.

Who have we "recruited" from AE? I can't recall anyone since I've been in school. We can't help if a player wants to come and play for a winning school. By the time AE gets back to being competitive we'll be gone to 4a, so you won't have to worry about us anymore. Enjoy Bball season.

You do know we've always had open enrollment right? You do know most of our "star" athletes have come from the 13 streets, right? No one cared about open enrollment back in the 90's when we were going 5-5, 3-7, 6-4. Heck our starting safety lived 1/2 a mile from Greenback High School when I played, but no one cared because we weren't winning titles! We'll be in 4a soon enough, but don't run up to 5a once we get there. Go Tornadoes!!!

Until AC proves they can win when it counts, I'll have to pick the Cyclones. This should be a great game though. Good luck to both teams.

I know all about those games! I was coaching both years at Alcoa. That 2011 beatdown y'all gave us still stings lol. We paid y'all back the next yr. We will definitely have some classic games in the future. I look forward once we move up in a few yrs. Good luck on the rest of the year.

You're a fool if you don't think we can win in 4a. You do know the teams that are in 4a now dominating are the same teams we were beating a few yrs ago? (Elizabethon, Greenville, PC, etc). Fulton, Anderson Co, and the rest would get mopped up. Greenville always has a good team and there would be some classic games, but most of the them wouldn't be close. You need to stop trolling Turtle lol. You just worry about AE getting competitive again. CD put up 43 on y'all and probably called the dogs off. Go Alcoa!

I didn’t think it was 3 yrs. I stand corrected. You’re right, there’s 3 4a teams in the east that can compete now, and will be 4 soon. I’m still not sold on Anderson Co. though. I’ve always loved playing Elizabethon and Greenville. We had some great games in the past.

So y'all think we're scared to move up to 4a, but didn't Elizabethon win back to back titles once they moved up? I believe we beat them a few times while in 3a, and then they win a couple titles in 4a the next few yrs. Greenville has always been a great program and we've had some great games. Besides those 2 teams in 4a, there's nobody in knox that could compete. I do like this Anderson Co. team this yr, but I still think we beat them. This is just my opinion though.

I hate seeing AE this bad. We had some great games back when I played in 99-00. I have some childhood friends that are still over there and love their Roadrunners. There's no way they play that 3-3-5 next week or whatever they played last night. I just don't see it happening when they know Alcoa will run the ball. Murvul will be a totally different team next week. It always happens lol. I just hope my Tornadoes can find a way to win.

I noticed that as well. This isn't the typical rebel D from the past. But you and I know that they will come out firing next week lol. I think this game will come down to penalties and turnovers. You know I'll be hyped up!
