Quesiton: You mention that Giles will have a new staff next season, Since when did this take place? Haven't heard of any firings, retirings, nor hiring of a new coach.

The sad thing is that Greenbrier and Page will no longer be in the same region come next year. I would like to add to Sacdawgs comment...and wish all of the Greenbrier coaches, players, and fans the best this Saturday. All the best!! thumb

Why such a long time before they would announce? Couldn't they lose a top candidate because that timeframe runs into Spring Practice for most schools. Just seems to be too long of timeframe. Best wishes to whomever comes away with that job. I hope all those involve with the program give the coach a good amount of time to turn it around. Unlike Notre Dame, Indiana, Mississippi, etc did to their recent coaches.

This region lost a couple of good, solid and tough programs. However, they have not lost anything with the change. This will still be a black and blue region. Very tough to win outright. By the time, the top 4 teams reach the playoffs they will be beat up quite a bit. It should make them tougher for the playoffs. This will be a fun region to watch next year. The early on odds favorites to win the region would be: David Lipscomb, Page, Marshall Co,Creek Wood, or Cheatham Co. Most of that is based upon what each of those teams have done this season. wow, what a region! No love for Page? Two very good teams here. CW is a much improved team. This will be a battle between the #2 (CW) and #3 (Page) defenses in the region. I have to go with Page in this one. Page 28 CW 17

You can bet that any player who played for Mont Cent last year, still has that bitter taste in their mouths from last year's game. It may give them fuel for the fire. However, Page is stronger than last year. There running game is amazing. Their OL is big and strong. QB and WR are the only unsure thing. It's part of their game that has to improve to go beyond the first couple of rounds in the playoffs. Defense is solid. SACDAWGS, you are correct about the Indians being improved over last year and yet not quite there to get beyond the upper teams of this region. Page does win this one. Page 38 Mont Cent 20

Any final word if this game has been moved to another day? I hate to drive all the way down to Marshall Co and see only mctiger eating a ham and cheese sandwich.

Three thoughts on this game: 1) Wow!! Greenbrier has made it to the number 2 spot in the state according to the prep poll. Congrats to all the players, coaches, and fans. Just don't let it go to your heads. However, I don't think your head coach will allow that to happen. 2) Creekwood, you seem to be a much improved team this year. My honest feeling is that you will upset some teams in the region this year that are not expecting an improved team. However, the Bobcats I feel will win this game. It could be close...sort of..10 points 3)I sure hope the rain holds off so these two teams can showcase their talented teams.

Bulldog69: Ouch!! This will be a good game. Don't worry, the line will be ready. Ready to put a thumpin on the defensive front of Ravenwood. Ground (Page) vs. Air (Ravenwood) this game will give fans of both styles of offense a great game to watch. thumb

Would it not make sense to move one team from Region 5 into Region 4? Either Greenbrier, Sycamore, Mont. Cent, or Cheatham Co. This would give each of these regions 8 teams.

I think the 10 yard line is too close for overtime. If you are going to have this rule for OT at least put the ball on the 20. This way it gives a little more defensive battle and add excitment to the game. A 27 yard field goal is a chip shot in H.S., but from 37 is a little more difficult at the H.S. level. Just wondering what other players, coaches, and fans think about this overtime rule.

Ravenwood 28 Cent 14 Can Centennial's defense defend the pass? TC Jennings may give the Raptors the spark it needs to take down this Williamson County foe. This should be a fun game to go see this week.

Sacdawg...Taking stab at the b-cats? Although, you are probably correct about the region. Greenbrier, tough O & D. Sycamore, Offense is for real. Page, Big OL that is all juniors (maybe one senior) with three tough running backs and a traditional tough D that just seems to reload. Marshall Co, only know that they are a traditional talented team on both sides of the ball. Those four teams will be tough to beat. I'm like you..anxious for the season to begin. This is a great program! You get a ton of stuff. Also, "Redzone" - Old Spice deordrant (sp?) has a similar program too. Plus, Redzone will keep track of your players of the week for the season and then the coach submits their player of the year at the end of the season. Redzone gives scholarship money to those players too. I signed up for both of these at an AFCA convention a few years ago. I believe the websites are the best place to find out about this stuff.

Kenwoodrun Great meet again this year! That girl's team from Illinois was awesome. They flew around that track like jets. My goodness. If there were scouts there for track, they saw some great talent from several states that were represented. Wow!! Again, great meet and hope to return next year. Did you need any lifesavers to pull out players that may have been lost in the sandpits? All that water from the rains sure made a swamp out of the sandpits and fields for the discus and shot put areas.

WR/CB, Edwin Andrews from Page H.S. signed to Lambuth this past week. Congratulations to Edwin. He was a dynamite player for the patriots.

For those that may have not heard, the new mascot for Independence will be the Eagles.

won't the baseball responsiblities fall to Coach Eubanks? He coaches the baseball team at the middle school, I thought he would take over those responsbilities at the high school and forgo the middle school next season. I'm not positive this is what will happen,however, since he is already there coaching football, I assume he will take over the baseball responsibilties at the high school.

TNrunner: Thank you for the informative website!! It is a very good resource for TN track and field. I was able to find out that the Buster Relays are scheduled to take place this year. I was under the impression that the Buster's were no more. Yet, it was always a fun event to attend. It good to see that they are still around. Thanks for the help!
