Central has a lot of good, young players and a great coach in Suiter. If Roney is out (she didn't play vs. Collinwood at Huntingdon event tonight), OC should be able to overcome, maybe change style of play from post to perimeter. .... Hopefully, she'll be back soon. VolGen .... Please don't take this as a smart-alecky response b/c its not. I've just been always been curious.: 1. is it Jackson Central Merry or Jackson Central-Merry (hyphen or not) 2. Jackson Northside or Jackson North Side 3. Jackson South Side or Jackson Southside 4. I'm sure many years ago there was a Jackson Central and a Jackson Merry. Is that correct? And, did they all split from Jackson High. home of the mighty Bears?

That makes me feel better about Tennessee's softball state champions being crowned in Mississippi. But seriously folks ..... Union City High School's first football season was 1903. I'd love to know all the Tennessee schools who have been playing football for 100-plus years.

Oh, I'm not looking for anything to take the place of coachT. Nothing could. .... What I was thinking about was something similar to team sites, where schedule/results for the current season are posted (similar to the coachT schedule pages) as well as historical info, like past results, record books, old photos .... that kind of thing. .... More of a reference site rather than a site like coachT, which covers all the bases. In fact, a background site like I'm talking about might even spur more debate on coachT. .... That's all I'm talking about. If historical info on a team-by-team basis can be put on coachT's site, I'd prefer that instead b/c everything would be centralized into one location. .... If that's a possibility, let me know. I have info on all three Obion County teams: Football, basketball, baseball, softball, and even some tennis and track.

Cards have a good enough lineup to score runs and win games. With their 3-4-5-6 guys, the rest of the lineup can be a "Your Name Here" and the team would still score runs. ... New SS just adds to the lineup b/c of his leadoff abilities. ..... A stud No. 1 is what the Cards need. Hopefully, Mulder is that man. ..... As far as Morris, I just think he's a quitter. He just seems to fade after the All-Star break. But, for the Cards, he can win games at No. 3, 4 or even 5. ..... Woody had to go. Heck, he's 85 years old. Appreciate what he did for the team, though. Tough and Gutsy. .... Matheny's gonna be missed. Cards are pretty well set on defense, and since the small-ball days are gone (for now), a basestealer killer is not really necessary, but his control of the game and the staff will be missed.

You wanna help Vandy football??? Drop the program to I-AA and put it in the OVC. Vandy has gone from SEC laughingstock to SEC leech. .... The most disappointed program in the SEC about So. Carolina exiting the bowl picture this year was Vandy, b/c it wouldn't be stealing that bowl money the SEC foolishly shares with its members. .... Vandy football = JOKE

Back during the 2004 football season, there was a thread about high school websites in Tennessee. On that thread, someone talked about starting up one for West Tennessee schools. ..... Recently, in this forum, I have noticed a new site for Maryville and one for Hixson. ..... Are there any plans on starting a West Tennessee site?? Anyone have any infor on that?? I think it would be a great site, and I can provide some info on Obion County's three teams.

Despite the fact that UC has won just five football games in the last two years and the boys' basketball team is currently 15-1, I think the move is good for basketball and bad for for football. The way UC's enrollment is right now, the football program is teetering on becoming one of those schools that goes up and down every four years. ... I was told by someone very close to the football program that UC's enrollment the last four years made it a 1A school while it played in 2A. The enrollment the next four years, beginning with the 2005-06 school year, will be 2A in size but UC will play in 1A. .... I think UC should do eveything it can to move back up to 2A in two years and never even consider 1A again unless its enrollment should somehow fall below 325. UC's football program is 2A (some might even say its facilities surpass many 3A programs), and it should stay 2A. .... Now, hoops is different. UC has fallen to single-A size and will likely stay that way as long as TSSAA has three classes for hoops. Now, if the TSSAA would got four classes across the board, like I think it should ..... ah, but that's another topic for another time.
