  1. Just one question: Have you read the book? I just finished it. Kerry needs to sign a form 180 to release his records because there are FAR too many questions that have been raised.
  2. He looked like he felt pretty good when he sprinted down to the Maryville students section to flex during the pre-game, LOL thumb I think this year's rendition of the Blount County War is going to be a good game, but I agree with RR that depth is going to win this one.
  3. they used to say the same stuff 20 years ago when Maryville was in AA and just as in back then, only a fool would believe that Maryville could not compete week in and week out in 5A.
  4. But he didn't lose 'his' medals ....... he threw some other jerk's medals across the fence remember?
  5. uhhhh? Homer Vote? Maryville.
  6. Believe the year was 1985, Maryville versus Austin East at Maryville. Last play before the half, AE kicks something like a 40 yard field goal (unheard of back then). That was the final score, 3-0. We held Leroy Thompson to something like 18 yards on 11 carries and he was hurt just before the half. That was the most emotionally draining game I have ever saw.
  7. I'm on nearly everyday at least twice, but typically more. LOVE this site; wish they had something like this when I was in high school ...... ermmmmm, wish we had the internet back then too
  8. Dang it, that was my upset special on the Big Ones Sounded like a really good game.

    Hazing

We never really had any hazing at Maryville ...... we were too busy winning ball games Seriously, hazing to a point is ok as long as it does not become physical. If someone cannot handle the mental hazing that does go on, then they really need to question whether or not they want to play this game. Football is a tough game and you have to be mentally prepared just as much physically. I know that isn't the PC thing to say and will prolly make some people mad, but those are the facts of life.
  10. Alcoa was leading 42-0 at the half (game was delayed due to lightning). Last I heard on Central, the Bobcats were up something like 28-14 and walking away with it with @ 4 mins to go (that was over an hour ago). Looks like MHS rolled BIG tonight! Go Red Rebels!!
  11. took the words right out of my mouth Ron. Thompson is the real deal; granted Quarles' system is outstanding, but the system isn't checking off at the line nor throwing the ball for him.
  12. Man, really hate to hear about the accident, def will add them to our prayer list. Accidents such as this really put life into perspective, but it's fabulous to have a community like this to be a part of.
  13. HUGE ebay fan with about 500 online transactions ---> anything from sports cards to you name it. I bought 85% of my family's Christmas presents on there last year. Wait until there is about 10-15 seconds left in the auction and then bid the max that you are willing to pay ---> sniping does work
  14. 1) If you are former military (especially an officer), you do not speak against an ongoing war. He served four months, declared that they had committed war crimes, etc. and now that it is convienent, is a proud vet? 2) During the convention, he spent 7 minutes talking about growing up and going to Viet Nam and then uses ONE sentence to describe a 20 year Senate campaign 3) Did he only command one person in his boat? Click here and then click on the photo to see how many people who served with him supported him. I don't like either candidate, but watching Kerry just makes me absolutely want to hurl.
  15. Is it in Oak Ridge or at MHS? Time? (I lost the other thread).
  16. Both of my sisters and one brother-in-law went to Everett ....... they still talk about the kick off that was returned for a TD, in what? 1974? LOL.
  17. Harris, Cobb and then Fine.
  18. Preaching to the choir but good job. I agree, if elected, I think the far left will chew him up and spit him back out.
  19. Did he miss games because he was injured or was it more of a 'violation of team rules' type of thing? Do you know if will be a qualifier? Sounds like he could be an excellent sleeper.
  20. don't forget the best one though, heard this quote on the radio coming to work tonight: "I didn't quit football because I was caught using drugs, I used drugs because I wanted to quit football" LOL.
  21. WaCo: is Lamon being recruited D1?
  22. '93 Cleveland Team ---> they had speed at every position and could score at will. '84 Maryville ---> Troy Hodge / Allan Fine combination was phenomenal and received zero notice (except for Fine's 2 fumbles that cost us the playoff game at Jasper Co) ---> ok, sue me, it was a homer vote. IMO, this Maryville Tandem was better than any of the newer ones because only one O-Linesman was D1 caliber '86 AE ---> Joey Smith and Leroy Thompson; once Leroy quit telegraphing where he was going, he was unstoppable. Again, the O-Line had no 'stars'.
  23. I did decent for the first 3 or 4 seasons and then one year, I had like maybe 5 signees, LOL, all were one stars and were terrible. I always customize the schedule by front loading Ohio State, USC, OK, or Miami on the schedule. I was like 9-3, 9-3, 5-7, 3-9, 0-12, 0-12.
