  1. Yeah the other sports, like softball. Check out the state contending softball roster they've put together out there and those of you saying let them play out of zone might think about taking that statement back.
  2. Yeah I pretty much wrote that part tongue in cheek!
  3. We're all hearing the same things you're hearing, and I've heard enough to know a good bit is true stuff, which would lead one to believe that all of it is. A kid moves into the LC zone, case closed, life goes on. But if not, and these athletes are allowed to play immediately, that's a major problem, one that will continue and get worse if it's not stopped. The LC buildings and facilities don't lie, they are way way way over the top, they've been handed a bunch of stuff that the rest of the high schools in the county have had to scrap, scrape, fundraiser and beg sponsors in the communities to get. A new school is obviously going to be nice and glittery, but what they put together out there, along with the dollars they shelled out to the athletic programs, is a complete slap in the face to rest of the county. Now maybe the school board has major plans to be fair and help even the score, but please come out and make that known. We're all waiting.
  4. Gallatin at Green Hill, May 19
  5. Gallatin should beat Mt Juliet relatively easy, but I think the other 3 region games are very competitive and close. Cookeville and Lebanon may be considered the favorites, but all 4 district 10 teams have good talent and are capable of making runs here.
  6. Surely 7 years ago won't repeat itself at 6 tonight.
  7. Coin flips determined the 2-4 seeds.
  8. Mondo44 and wave88 you have both hit the nail on the head with me, you guys must know me very well! I'm working on recruiting Bellacinos to build in my backyard as I type this!
  9. They host Goodpasture September 23rd, and from what I've heard Portland replaced East Hamilton with them in week 2. Trousdale County also needed a a 10th game, so I'm thinking LC might fill that.
  10. I heard today from a reliable source they'll announce head coaches the first of February.
  11. Gallatin High School and the entire community lost a good one earlier this morning with the passing of head girls basketball coach Jerry Landers. He had been in the hospital for nearly two weeks battling Covid. Please remember first his family, then the girls he led and his fellow coaches, and the entire GHS family.
  12. They've scheduled a home game September 23rd vs Goodpasture.
  13. The Commandos have plenty of big play power in Ellis, Manning and Baker, the Wave defense has already seen them once this year and will again be greatly challenged to reign these guys in. A big key for Gallatin will be to play well from the opening whistle, have some good things happen early, to be able to stay in it and give themselves a chance. Hendersonville definitely has the horses to run away from a team, they can snowball a team in a hurry. Get ready for lots of run plays! Upper 40's and dry at kickoff, there should be a huge crowd for what is one of the longest standing Sumner County rivalries.
  14. Yes that is the correct district tournament format.
  15. The vast majority of everybody's 2022 schedule will be the same as their 2021 schedule, with the home and away games being flipped.
  16. Congrats to the Commandos and good luck in the playoffs!
  17. Saturday, November 20 at Gallatin: Summit vs Gallatin girls at 9:00 Oakland vs Gallatin boys at 10:30 Summit vs Westmoreland girls at 12:00 Oakland vs Whites Creek boys at 1:30 Northwest vs Westmoreland girls at 3:00 Whites Creek vs Gallatin boys at 4:30 Northwest vs Gallatin girls at 6:00
  18. Gallatin has wanted and attempted to reschedule to Oct 8 since the Tuesday it was cancelled to start with.
  19. Hendersonville and Beech will win in blowouts, Gallatin also wins but probably by a closer margin than the other two.
  20. I'm picking Hendersonville 35-31 based on what I saw from them Friday night. They are well coached and look to be getting stronger as the season goes on, they should make a deep playoff run. Ellis is the real deal, and Manning is a great leader at QB. This has the makings of a classic!
  21. Less than 4 hours to kickoff. City rivals, clear and 73 at kickoff, the atmosphere should be awesome!
  22. Station Camp is definitely improved, as I expected them to be with their new head coach. Gallatin has lost to a really good team, and beat a really bad team, this should be an interesting game with a great atmosphere.
  23. Opening games are so hard to predict, especially one that's been a rivalry game for over 40 years. Just looking at how last year's season went, and the experience returning for both, Mt Juliet would be the obvious favorite. However, I've seen all 3 Gallatin scrimmages, and I'm hoping their grit and scrappy attitude carries right over into the regular season. They must hold on to the ball, that has been a preseason problem. It will take lots of ball control for the Wave to have a shot. You can predict this or that, but in a big opening rival game like this, lots of unpredictable things can happen. In fact, this 39 game series is full of them. That's why they play the games. Kickoff is about 9 hours away, it should be interesting!
  24. Gallatin's Green and Gold Game is set for May 14 at the Wave Yard, probably at 6 or 6:30.
