  1. Right now I feel that Lipscomb has a 7 point advantage, but this game could go either way. CPA is always dangerous with their passing attack and Lipscomb is solid on both sides of the ball. However playing at home, being 4A, and winning last year should help Lipscomb just enough to win.
  2. Mcgavock maybe the best team Goodpasture has played yet. This is the fourth meeting of these teams. So far it has been Goodpasture winning two close ones and Mcgavock winning a blowout. If Mcgavock is a pass happy team it might be a long night for the Cougars. However Goodpasture finds ways to win and I think they win another close one.
  3. Goodpasture has had 3 one point games and 2 ot games this season. I guess Tumms and Rolaids are common around the Cougar sidelines these days.
  4. Another good ranking poll. However 2-10 will get moved around in the next few weeks. Correction #6 Smith County plays Cannon County next week.
  5. About 4 or 5 weeks ago I would have picked White House hands down. Now I am not so sure that White House can win. Macon County is at home and playing well. If they do not have a meltdown and turn the ball over several times, Macon is good enough to win. At this point I think White House has lost focus and Macon County is on a mission. Macon County in a close one.
  6. Camden will win big. At least two scores.
  7. Congrats to Maplewood but Congrats to East Lit too. They played a real good Maplewood team tough to the end. A game which not many gave East Lit a chance including myself.
  8. I did not think Baylor could beat BA considering the history of the rivalry. Congrats to Baylor.
  9. Scratch this thread, I think White County will win.
  10. "Massacre at the Bridge", I kind of thought it might be
  11. Wow, I did not see this game being one sided. I really thought Greenbrier had something special and this was the year to catch Lipscomb down. However, I think Greenbrier lost the game before they even got off the bus. Poor play and turnovers is not the right combo to play Lipscomb. I do not want Greenbrier fans to think I am ragging on them but this really was a poor effort and shocking. Congrats to Lipscomb.
  12. Right now I would have to say Smith County
  13. Congrats to Smith County. I thought White House might win this because it was a home game and they have their backs to the wall. However, Smith County played hard and did what they had to do against a good White House team. Impressive.
  14. This game is got to be a pick em. White County (3-4) vs York (4-3) is the kind of game Friday Night Football is all about, because you have two teams struggling a little this year that need this win and are counting on this win. We all know this going to be a dogfight. So I want to say the home team has the advantage, but York has the better record. If you force me York +1. Sorry White County, Good Luck to both.
  15. if you like High School sports?
  16. I have been to many football games in Middle and West TN and this state has some tremendous announcers. This thread could easily open a can of worms, but I will just say I have enjoyed many across the state.
  17. CPA would win or have to beat one or maybe two teams for the DII-A title in football every year.
  18. Sorry, you are too clever and too deep for me to continue this correspondence.
  19. I would first talk to a school that has a team and is about the same size. Second, you have to consider D1 or D2,because D2 you will have to travel further for district games. Third,if you are in D1 your district will be set for you. Football is the most expensive sport in High School. Thats why in college there are so many basketball teams than football teams. Travel, pads, uniforms, coaches salaries, stadium and grass upkeep, and insurance is very expensive and very competitive. It will take alot of parent support and patience for long painful beginner seasons. On the plus side, there is nothing you can do more to build excitement and enrollment (if private) than to start a team. It would be an endless thread if we talked the history of all the programs that started in middle Tn. However if you were to do your homework and research it would be a great thing. Also talking to several schools public and private would be wise because they all have different budgets and cost. I think it is more obvious that I am not an expert, but I have heard of schools reaching out to other schools for that kind of help. Principals, Atheletic Directors, and Head Coaches at others schools know all the details of a football program.
  20. Hands down the best talent and the most exciting playoffs in High School football.
