  1. Ensworth scores again after a UC fumble to take a 19-6 lead with 10:27 left in the half
  2. This is funny because there really is a guy from UC who does pretty accurate weather reports on facebook and is associated with the football program. I have no idea if thats him or not
  3. They allow them anywhere it isn't blatant. Kids in metro areas just have more options
  4. The difference between Mitchell or Fairley and Collierville or Germantown is about like comparing Lake County or West Carroll to Henry County or Haywood. Its the same sport sure but entirely different leagues. I expect Riverside to keep it close but ultimately lose by 2 or 3 scores. Same thing I expect will happen to Union City honestly
  5. Considering a lot of the in the school come from the City I would expect a lot of the athletes on their sports teams do also. I know several kids who played junior league or middle school football ball for the city who are currently on the OC roster. The situation as you describe it doesn’t exist.
  6. Jesus I'll be glad when we get reclassified in 2 years to stop this whining. We have hovered around the cutoff for the entire decade and a half I have lived in Union City. It so happened that we fell on the A side this time. If the TSSAA had not decided to do 2 year classification I don't think we would have dropped. Kids go back and forth from City to County from K-12 all the time. Central has 2 feeder schools on the edge of Union City city limit and run as many buses in town as city school does. But all the people arguing on this post knows this stuff. I have always assumed a reason why people would send their kid 10 miles away to the school system with the confederate flag on a sign out front rather than the better rated school system in the town where you live but that's not really a conversation for this board. Now can we please just talk about football
  7. The KY method would interesting but I think people in this state would quickly sour on the small rural communities never getting close to a championship. 3 public West Tennessee girls teams won state championships last week. Under the KY rules I think only one of them would have even made it to the tournament.
  8. Probably the greatest tournament run by an individual player ever.
  9. Skip the sectional round and region champs go to state?
  10. Good game Huntingdon good luck the rest of the way.
  11. Touchdown Huntingdon. 10:30 left in the game
  12. Union City kicks a field goal on the opening possession of the 2nd half 4:51 left in the 3rd
  13. Scoreless at the half. Both teams had promising drives get stopped on 4th down. Both teams have a turnover. Huntingdon got down to the goal line on their drive UC held them out. Defenses both playing very well.
  14. I don’t think you could combine all of Gibson into one school far too many kids for that. But going from 6 to 2 or 3 would make a lot of sense. Carroll County you probably could combine into one school population wise but where you would put that school I have no clue. If a kid from Bradford wanted to play football would he be able considering they have their own district. Just something I have wondered.
  15. Personally I think there are too many small schools in West Tennessee. Blount County where Alcoa and Maryville are has 5 high schools. Gibson County has 6. Carroll County has 5. Neither of those counties has half the population of Blount county. You could combine the high schools in most West Tennessee counties and still not be 6a in football. I think you could better use the funding that most of the school systems have by merging some of these schools.
  16. Uc Intercepted a Westview pass with 2 minutes to play. UC Just got a first down under a minute left
  17. 10-6 UC in the 4th. Westview has the ball. I have never seen a weirder called game by the officials.
  18. He’s a borderline 4 star with a SEC offers it’s not as ridiculous as you make it seem.
  19. This is only a fair point if those teams will schedule a home and home. Teams always want to treat small Memphis schools like homecoming fodder and then complain about cheating whenever one is good enough to compete. It’s becoming redundant to explain the MASE situation on here but ignoring that how many kids that live outside of zone play for UC or Peabody or Westview or McKenzie or Huntingdon. How many kids that played Jrs and middle school for Lake County are playing at Central or DC. I’m not making an accusation because I don’t care. Up here people make decisions based on what they believe is best for themselves and their children all the time and no one says anything about it. People in Memphis just have way more options.
  20. Congratulations to Huntingdon. That Eubanks is good ball player.
