  1. Sure thing, remember what I said last time I spoke to you about hiding behind your keyboard.
  2. Not likely, I'll bet your real name being released against me handing over $1,000 to Rankin personally that it won't happen next year.
  3. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! LOD, I've always respected your insight on Mid TN football (especially from the Boro) because it is exactly the same info I get from my Riverdale folks who played for the man during his golden era there. These Alcoa loons can say all they want, but comparing what he's done in 3A to what he coached against while at Riverdale in 5A is laughable. Reid, Meadows, almost any decent coach would win at almost the same clip with the talent level to weak schedule they play.
  4. The only problem would be there is only be one starter per weight class. Practice can only get you so far, the most growth comes from live action against other kids not in your practice room. Very rarely do HS teams have multiple guys able to start at Heavyweight. As far as the other weight classes, there's 220 and the 195 pound class below that. Occasionally you have a Clay Strawn (former starting lineman) who would cut 20 pounds or so down to 195 pound class for wrestling season. It would be great if all of our linemen were above 220, but we've always done more with less in terms of O line size and I'd take 5 Clay Strawns on the line every day of the week.
  5. So beating them isn't considered "going blow for blow"? I love how all these MJ posters justify a quarterfinal loss, you guys sound like a bunch of Hoteps.... "We wuz kangs!!!"
  6. We have a lot of the big boys coming out for wrasslin this year. Potentially 6 heavyweights on the roster this year! Hopefully they'll translate that to Coach Water's O-line.
  7. Agreed. Any time people think one game defines them as #2 in the state (when they didn't even get out of the quarterfinals), those people need a reality check. Congratulations to Oakland though, I have a friend on that staff and they deserved it.
  8. For anyone to pick Maryville outside of #2 is confusing to me. Maryville had 2 losses, one to a team they beat who eventually earns the 6A title and one who will be the eventual 3A champion.
  9. Hard times? We were one year removed from a 9-1 regular season and made the playoffs the next year. If anything, it was a rebuilding period that led to where we are today.
  10. Love it! I'll say that sport won't be on top for much longer though.
  11. I'll leave that to Hamm, I'm busy myself with the MS rankings as is. I don't get bent out of shape on rankings though, they're all just opinions until the end of the year.
  12. Where's Dalon from Pigeon Forge? Also, Partin from PF should be higher than Wimbley from Alcoa. Foreman will be the champ at 132 and I don't see how Skidmore from PF is not in the top 2 at 160.
  13. Braden Ivy goes to Morristown West HS, not Knox West HS. I'd put Ivy at #2 in this poll at 106 but that's just me. Also I see no way Linderman will make 220 again this year, if he does then he's where he should be in the rankings.
  14. Hold your horses there tin can. It took 4 turnovers to beat Maryville by 6, so I'm not seeing Alcoa beat them by 28 (unless you're using Rankin 'Rithematic of course).
  15. I sure would like to see other schools (ahem Alcoa) play up.... Sure enough though Rankin and their Goobs will forever be happy beating us once a decade and celebrate winning titles against JV teams.
  16. We're well aware of that and have been for over 70 years, but that same 3A team would blank you guys just as bad if not worse. Not to mention your beat coach ever is a former Maryville guy. Let that sink in...
  17. After putting 42-0 on them Owls tonight, as much as it pains me to say it Alcoa may indeed be the "Best in the State" regardless if they're 3A or not. Maryville knows more than anyone that Alcoa isn't your typical 3A school. We very well could still walk away with a 6A title but losing to them tin cans will never be acceptable. To say Maryville doesn't have athletes is crazy talk. If not for the athletes we "don't" have our supposed "big" kids wouldn't be winning so much. This may be one of our smaller lines we've had yet they still keep winning. Athlete wise, I could put a bunch of our WR's and RB's on a track team and guarantee they'd smoke most teams in the state this year.
  18. I'll take our Juniors over your Sophomores. Congratulations though, 1 out of 10 is still .100.
