I disagree completely. Pace of the game is dictated by many factors. I think you have two very skilled teams. To each his own, but I think you are wrong.

The shot clock won't happen in Tennessee, until the NFHSA mandates it. Their are currently two states that use a shot clock (NY and Mass). They like it. If a state association chooses not to follow the mandates of the NFHSA, they are usually kicked out of the organization. For example, the state of Minnesota plays 18:00 minute halves instead of 4-8:00 minute quarters. (NFHSA eliminated their membership). They actually play 36:00 of basketball per game (as opposed to 32:00). On average, their boys and girls doubleheader games take 15 minutes less, of real time, to play (on average) per night. Sounds like a good idea to me.

How does a Dekalb Co fan know how much talent is walking the halls at Coffee Co? People who are walking the halls, obviously don't want to play basketball. The worst excuses ever spoken have to be "I'd play, but I don't like the coach" or "I'd play, but the coach doesn't like me."

I will take Brentwood by double figures. Regular season schedule is completely different. White Co plays in what is arguably the weakest district in the state. White Co is good, But I don't think they will make it past the first round. Coach Mitchell does a great job.

I believe the coaches in District 9AAA voted him coach of the year. As I have said before, if you want to know how good coaches are, ask other coaches. Don't ask parents or people on message boards.

Unfortunately, this is only one example of the lack of integrity by a few coaches, parents. Their are many issues in high school athletics that need attention. Just to name a few: schools recruiting, parents shopping kids to different schools, parents moving kids to other schools when their kid isn't getting enough time and hype, etc., etc., etc. These are problems initiated by adults, not students. It's shameful.

The block charge call is killing the game! Officials have no clue how to call it.

I disagree. MJ has won 8 district games in a row. That's not much of a downslide. SC may win, but not because MJ is sliding. I also think SC has a great gym (for a middle school).

Nobody has complained yet because the word hasn't gotten around? Somebody had to be signed to fill the void left by Hodges. Heck they've lost 2 games since Christmas. Time for some reinforcements. Think coach will be able to keep the new guys parents happy? Chickie, you got the answers to that?

Just want to say thanks to everyone for the interesting material today! These last few pages are awesome. I would also like to personally say that I have never seen anyone dedicated to any one program like Chickie (aka Bisontruth) is to SC. No matter what happens he is all about the Bison and his main man Kyle. By the way, if all of us would get a second screen name, we would be able to keep conversations going on the slow days. I'm all for it, what about everyone else?

If you truly want to know who can coach basketball; talk to other basketball coaches. If you want to find people to bash coaches; talk to parents, people who have never coached, and read message boards.

Glencliff isn't a "very good team" as you stated. They are an average team. They play hard and are well coached. Best team Glencliff has had in a few years. They don't score very well. If They beat White County, WC is average at best.

You are incorrect. All schools are counted based on the total enrollment of 9th-12th grade. And whoever said that should have dropped down a class when they had a chance is clueless. You don't have the option of dropping a class because you choose. By the way, I think this is a good hire. However, your talent level is the same as it has been. I can't wait for people from WC to start complaining about their son not playing, when they start losing games next fall. What's that guys screen name whose son should have been first team all-state the last two years as a quarterback, but only played JV because the coach was getting paid-off? LOL

I believe they have occasionally done the obviously stupid. I don't know how serious they are about hiring Madewell and I don't have a problem with it. I don't think any quality coach will touch this job. My question is can you really believe you are moving forward, if you go backward to hire a coach. This has already been done once. How did it work out for the ladies basketball program when Coach Ann Jacobs Eades had two separate tenures?

I think Hodges played fairly well against Stewart's Creek. He scored 9 according to the Tennessean. If he scored and didn't even play, that is even more impressive.
