  1. I'm interested in this one. With the raptors playing last night, I may find myself here tonight. Centennial has a new HC. Like Ravenwood, they have been told all offseason that there gonna be down. I don't know how Centennial will respond to that criticism, but Ravenwood ushered in the Wessman era with near perfect execution of the West Coast Offense. QB McCain Marrow broke Cole Brown's school record for passing with 422 yards, mostly in short throws with some occasional big yards after the catch. I don't know what will happen in Franklin, so I'm going give two predictions. If Franklin wins, 20-7 seems right. If the cougs come out on top, it will be 10-9. Let's hope for a fun and injury free game!
  2. I meant to say one of the best, because Dodson was truly a beast. I cannot think of any other standout linebackers the county has seen in a while. Hope Dodson does well at Texas A&M because the kid is a class act.
  3. I don't understand the move to 3 classes in D2. However, in D1, I hope we return to the z-plan. I honestly don't get the hatred against it. The people who complain that it leads to "watered-down schedules" are also the ones who root their heads off for SEC teams who scedulede Toilet Seat State University anytime they have a game a week later that is against any team with more than eight wins. I could go on all day about why the z-plan was perfect but we'd be here all day...
  4. Defense is fine and lead by LB Tahj Williams. He is the best linebacker that Williamson county has seen in years. Ravenwood has the best O-Line in school history, lead by 6-7 Duke commit Patrick Lietten. The new coaching staff has experience at the game's highest level, the NFL. In addition, the Raptors have hired longtime Titans special teams coach Allen Lowery. The sceduled is loaded early, but eases after the halfway point. The toughest team the Raptors play this year will be Maryville.
  5. Amid heated debate over our own postseason format, Florida's FHSAA has proposed something completely different than anything seen here. It could go into effect there as early as 2017. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/high-school/article77312762.html The gist: -No more districts, only regions -Playoff births and seeds based solely on points system -Points are earned by playing teams with more wins, with more points being awarded if you beat them. -Bonus points for playing up a class. What do you think of this? While it is unlikely that an exact copy will be implemented by the TSSAA, I think this could be considered as a model for whenever the playoffs are up for realignment. One of my favorite parts about the highly unpopular "Z-Plan" was that every game counted for something. But one of the worst parts was the fact that teams would less likely to play good teams. That being said, it needs to be popular, so what do you guys think?
  6. Ravenwood will be fine. The head coach will be announced tomorrow. Cannot wait until our next gold ball #G2BARR
  7. Intresting. Not sure if I like that or not but it is Intresting. Ravenwood could have benefited from that as they lost four straight regional semifinals, one game away from substate four years in a row.
  8. Being not from Tennessee for the longest time, what was this "substate tournament" that people are talking about? All I know is the sectional played at the campus of the reigion champion while hosting another reigion runner-up. I thought that was the way it had always been. Was something else done in the '90's or something?
  9. As I said earlier, Hester did not teach. He monitored In School Suspension all day and still got teacher pay. I don't know what is going on in those interviews, nor do I know what the new coach will have to do teaching wise at Ravenwood or Centennial, but saying teaching is inevitable is like saying 3 inches of snow tomorrow is inevitable. We just don't know.
  10. Obviously, Ravenwood is not the level of those programs yet in terms of decades long success at the state title contention level. But 3X reigon champions including 1-for-2 in states titles in that timeframe speaks volumes at the county and midstate level.
  11. Ravenwood is a powerhouse and will get a good coach no matter what. This team has been in 4 of the last 11 state titles games with 2 gold balls. The new coach in fact may not have to teach, our last coach did ISS all day. Woodland Middle beat Brentwood and Sunset Middle in 2015. The best talent in the area still feeds Ravenwood. This dynasty is not over, it is only beginning!
  12. Don't forget that Rector is the only wilco coach to beat BA. Did it in the '08 thriller by going for two with seconds left and won 22-21. Incredible atmosphere that night. Came close to beating them in earlier years along with other close II-AA games like MBA a few times. So we know he can compete with the privates.
  13. Great news for the best receiver in 5A. Go Blue!
  14. Ravenwood is a 6A school of 2000+ kids but there are multi sport atheletes everywhere. It's not just a 2A thing. Half of the varsity basketball team plays football. The past two years it has caused problems because it's like the first day of bball practice all over because 7 players joined the team six weeks late. But it's well worth it and we would do it every year for a state championship ring. The football guys bring a unique swagger to the hardwood (dunks, charges taken, etc). They love the weightroom. These kids lay their heart on the line for both teams. Many tried to talk the bball coach into letting them go to 5am offseason fb workouts during bball season. It's not just fb-bball either. Chris Rowland is a tri-sport athelete (fb, wrestling, track) and he will be a individual state title contender in both. Ravenwood is a special place. We won a football state championship. Now, let's take care of business tomorrow night: beating Brentwood in front of 2,000 fans. ðŸ†ðŸ˜ˆðŸ´ðŸ€
  15. Don't forget that the program was dormit between 2009-2012 including a head coach with a six-week tenure.
  16. Watched the game on public access channel 9 live. Maybe it's taking time to learn the new offense. Wonder what pipedpipperofbrentwood would think?

  18. Deep district from top to bottom. No bad teams. Several coaching shake-ups. Who is gonna pull it out this year?
  19. Wiliamson County. Such a shame that it got split up in reclassification. Prowd to be part of such a great area.
  20. Titans game of the week. Deservingly so. G2BARR
  21. Most Ravenwood people ignore coacht these days and go to Twitter. There were times about 10 years ago where all the student trash talking happened here on these threads but those days are as dead as the dodo.
  22. Yes, the paper is correct, but How can you be more than 100 percent stats wise? 15 for 15 is exactly 100 percent.
