I see Ballard stepping away for 4-5 years until his son's eligibility is up at West Point, then returning to Greeneville Football until retirement. Whoever takes over at GHS will understand that they are keeping the bed warm until Ballard takes back over. Ballard will still hang around the program and offer advice when prodded. I have no basis to my thoughts, but I have a gut feeling.................

Morson made it very clear how important it was for him to "Double Dip" in his press release. I hope he puts that passion into the school house and the football program. Sounds like a short term marriage. Make the money and go back home. smh

NCS has absolutely no problem in bringing in a kid and convincing the family to make the kids lose a whole year of eligibility by transferring. I'm sure other schools, private or public, do the same thing. It is wrong in my view.

If I were Camden, I would back up a mid size truck full of $ and dump it in McConnell's yard. Camden cannot afford the Brink's Truck, but a mid size truck they could pull off. They have a 1st class man/principal calling the shots in Shawn McDowell. I think it can be a great job. Great Community support.

Not sure he would even be interested in a Metro position. But with him teaching in Metro, I would assume he may be interested. Former Covington and Kenwood Head Coach Brian Beaubien (sp).

A former 2 time successful head coach is teaching at McGavock. He would be agreat hire in Metro.

Any current news on this potential hire?

I thought he was a mainstay in the Clarksville High School Football scene? Am I missing something? I have been out of the loop for a while now.

Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse. It should have never happened in the 1st place. Understanding & following the rules are just as important as being able to call Power on 3rd and short or knowing when to run blitz or not. Just sayin'

No sir. He is rumored to be in the running for other jobs West of TN River. He has done a good job at Waverly, looking in from a distance. I think the best thing he has done besides cosmetically changing the program is to get the athletes out for football. Jimmies & Joe's, not X's & O's.

Let's see................I guess McConnell had a hard decision to make in the heat of battle. Put the ball in the hands of the reigning TSSAA Class 2A Mr. Football winner and throwing it to the current TSSAA 2A Mr. Football Finalist.........or let Bradley run the ball. I am sure most coaches would love to have that problem. lol

I come from a place back in the day where they were asked to leave the stadium or gym & some were denied to come back for a calendar year.

I have no problem with them if they know who their target is from the get/go. Don't waste anyone's time. Go get him. Good deal.

Did Northwest even interview anyone? I know for a fact of some very good coaches that applied or sent in a resume' & did not even get a courtesy email or phone call.

I went to a playoff game this year in Waverly. What I am about to say really has noting to do with the great people of Waverly. Thru my lucky life as a coach/teacher/AD, I have seen Waverly up close and personal for over 20 years, in all sports and education in general. I know some great educators in Humphreys County. But...........I witnessed some harsh coach bashing in the stands. I know it comes with the territory, but I could not get over the fact of where Waverly was for a LONG time and where they are now, yet the bashing was unreal. This was during a dismantling of a very good 11-1 team. I know it was probably from a group of people who do not have a clue, but that does not need to happen. It is not good for the kids involved. Again, I know it goes on in every high school stadium, every Friday night, & every team in the country, but...............

Is the Johnson kid a lineman or skill kid (TE)? Why didn't he play in '18?
