  1. We will have our hands full. Plus we haven't even played our first game yet. Who knows.
  2. Yes I have heard that the game is still on
  3. Either way, probably adds a little fuel to the fire. This game will be a war! Wish I could see it.
  4. Good coach and good guy. Was talking to one of the assistant coaches the other day, and he told me a portion of the guys on the Tiger staff played for Martin as well. I always enjoyed having him in Decatur, and I think he liked working here too. I think if our football supplements had been a bit higher at the time, he would have stayed for many more years.
  5. Sweetwater will be better, and they will be juiced and ready. Mike Martin was at Meigs County for years and had a lot of success. I’m not sure he has the personnel to go the distance this week, but if we let them hang around, it will be a ball game. In response to some of our players’ attitudes when they get hit in the mouth: we will have plenty of opportunities this year to be hit in the mouth (might be this week). It will make us better. Proud to be a Tiger!
  6. This is the first year that they have been helping. This is also the first year that the 7th and 8th graders have been officially a middle school team.
  7. I thought they looked pretty good. Sequoyah wasn't very good, but it was a fun atmosphere, especially for a middle school game. I think it's good that the HS staff is running the middle school program -- this way the 8th graders will get accustomed to the system they will run in HS. It's great to be a Meigs County Tiger!
  8. How did the Chargers look on defense? I’m sure WV tried to throw it a bunch?
  9. They hype Hampton up every year. Knock on wood, but I think South Greene will be the front runner in Region 1. Oneida is a sleeper as well. I think they will be very good.
  10. Agree with this. Personally, I think our offensive line as a whole deserves significantly more credit, and Gardner is the leader. Would also mention Brady Blevins. Brady embodies everything MC football is all about - hard worker, great leadership (on and off field), and TOUGH - played the whole post season at linebacker in ‘18 with a torn labrum. He, along with Lowe and Canyon Grant, will lead the defense this year.
  11. Swafford will start at safety. Carrol will start at slot receiver this year in addition to being the backup QB.
  12. Ehhhh nah. Other schools - sure. But I think most of us love beating Etowah by 40+ every year.
  13. Either way, something happened to him that raised some eyebrows. My source says he will be limited in the preseason, and hopefully healthy enough to play week 0.
  14. Saw them in 7on7 back before dead period. Didn't look very good. However, they seemed upbeat and having a good time under new coach. Good luck to them in 2019!
  15. He currently has a broken collarbone.
  16. He's just a freshman.... let's not over-hype him yet.
  17. Not very strange at all considering Marion was actually decent in ‘17. Trousdale beat the brakes off of them in ‘18. This year will be no different.
  18. Congratulations to Aaron Swafford, Gage Gardner, and Malachi Hayden from Meigs County! Also, congratulations to Hunter Barnhart, Colby Boyatt, and Kolby Morgan from Oneida! Region 2 is well represented!
  19. I would not put much stock into that. He was dressed out for Loudon as usual last Thursday night at McMinn County for 7 on 7.
  20. Most times, the principal makes the hire with input from the AD and/or superintendent. I guess every school system has different procedures for hiring though.
  21. Why in the world would they do that? Lol
