43 seconds left before half. UC 14 Dresden 14

UC 14 - Dresden 7 (about a minute left in 2 quarter) and Dresden is driving to score.

I'm picking Dresden by 14 in the rematch. Will be a good game, but I think Dresden has too much fire power.

Not knocking the QB, but I believe the Simpson kid will definitely be QB1 in Game 1. That type of arm talent doesn't come around very often in rural America. I wasn't expecting this game to be within 20, but WV played well and Dyersburg played very undisciplined. Dyersburg's season ends next week.

Hopefully no post-game fines after this battle. Good luck to both teams, it should be a battle and hopefully not a brawl.

Dresden 60 to 2

I think this will be a competitive game, but I got D-burg by 14 in this one. I don't see Westview being able to match up against the playmakers. Should be a good game.

Should be a great game, but I'm going with the Lions by 17 in this one. They're playing good hard-nosed football and whoever comes out of the West in the end I believe has an ultimate date with S. Pittsburg from Marion County.

Just for the record. I'm actually a GC fan first, but I had family at WV and pull for them. The PG is good, but she's not Jada/Tasia yet and will have a year of learning before its' her team. Simpson & Evans should be a lot of help, but they'll be playing catch up to us this year. I wouldn't want them in a do-or-die game late, because of their youth, but it should be a good season.

I think Wayne County would have to be the pre-season favorite this year with what Mckenzie lost. Davis is great, but she can only do so much. In 2A, I think GC-York or Alcoa will be the favorites. WV is in a rebuilding year and will have a tough time this year. They'll be dangerous late, but not a powerhouse. I think in 3A, it'll be Upperman. Looking forward to the season and seeing the season get going again.

After what I witnessed last night, I'm going with the Lions by 3-4 TDs. Impressive show last night. Good luck to both teams.

Watching the game in person, I was impressed with Dresden's ability to stop their offense and pretty much make them one-dimensional. I thought it was a well-played, clean game overall minus some late-minute emotions from some youngsters. Great win by Dresden and I still believe these teams will be in it come late playoff time.

I think it'll be a closer game than that & the coaches who used to teach them to play that way are gone & some are on CoachT still trying to live their dreams through the new ones. I see it being a good hard-fought contest, but I'm taking the Rebels by 7 in this one. Both are good programs and will be in the playoffs on good runs at the end of the season.

I'm picking OC in this one. I thought WV would get throttled last week and somehow they were in it, but I believe OC will dominate this game.

I was thinking this could be a running clock for Dresden before the game kicked off....but evidently, Westview didn't get the message of how everyone thought it would go. 2 halves to this game, but the 1st half is surprising.

Based on the first 2 quarters that I listened to, the Kool-Aid must be pretty good over there for Westview to be able to hang with the Lions. Cue the excuses for the 1st half...GO.

Upperman with those talented young players will probably be pretty tough next year.

Glad that Coach Harper put Edie on the line for the free throw on the intentional and she made a heck of a fake pump 3 on her drive & pull-up. #govols

In high school basketball, I'd prefer 3 classes for public school basketball. It wasn't as obvious in the boy's state tourney, but in the girl's state tourney...there were a couple of teams obviously that would not have been there if it wasn't so watered down. Seems like they could get the school populations divided in 3rds from 1A to 3A and get the tourney started on Wednesday. Just my 2 cents.

I was pulling for Middleton, but no disagreement from me. Congrats to Hampton for a very good performance from the West side.
