  1. He has been. I listenedd to a bit of the game when Farragut played Bearden. Mickey or whatever his name is rambled on for about 5-10 minutes before I heard another voice. Eventually they made a comment to where I realized it was Devrin.
  2. So I reckon Farragut won fairly easily.
  3. Farragut/Bearden games are always interesting. Never really know what can happen. Bearden did a pretty good job Sterling's last year of stopping him, but Farragut was a bit more 1 dimensional back then too. We relied quite a bit on Andre. Same reason we struggled against Ooltewah all the time. Once 1 part of our game was stopped we didn't know what to do, but didn't seem to make corrections to fix it either. Farragut is a bit more balanced this year and so far has been pretty decent on defense. But I guess we shall see.
  4. I haven't posted in almost, 3 years.. but anyways Was at the game last night. Was a bit nervous for it. I knew OR had a great receiver and wasn't sure if our secondary could keep up with it. Gave up a few good plays early. OR killed them selves with a few penalties, one bringing back a TD. I think Farragut got away with one on their first TD, not sure he was totally in bounds, but hard to say Farragut wouldn't have scored in the next 2 plays as they were inside the 5 anyways. That play really swung the momentum though, as well as the score right before half. Overall though, it was a great game. I'm pleasantly surprised by this Farragut team so far this year and they've really put a target on their back in the Region now. Before the season started I was thinking OR and Clinton would be the teams to give the Ads trouble, but we've gotten over one. Just have to keep it up all year. I wouldn't be surprised to see these teams get matched up again in the playoffs. Could be a very different game by that time. side note. I really don't like the gray/white shoulder stripe on Farragut's jerseys. I read some nice discussion about previous helmets and stuff. was a great read. Thank you ErikG for everything you do with the Ads! I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to pre-games, games, post games etc.. Thank You
  5. spin it into a thread victory? At least you agree there is a problem. You make it sound like I predicted Farragut to win and am trying to save myself the embarrassment of them losing. Heck, I was surprised that Farragut put up 41 for the game, 34 on the starters. I think you're making this a bigger deal than it really is.
  6. giving up 34pts is no problem? Sounds like there are still some issues at least on D. I mean come on. It's not like I'm claiming Farragut should have won or anything. When your first team defense gives up 34 points to an average offense, there are problems there. That's just common sense.
  7. Alright? And I dunno about 0 problems. They gave up 41pts to a Farragut offense that I would consider slightly above average at best. So, zero problems is a bit ridiculous don't you think?
  8. I don't think Maryville would have a problem with the teams in Idaho. FWIW. I know it's obvious, but, couldn't hurt to state it.
  9. Watched a bit of this game on the interwebs. Woah Farragut needs some kind of seconday, or to just not bite on the play-action so hard. Also, contain! The DL was killing me going right at him like they did, leaving it open to scramble. Also, I've never figured out how no one sees a screen coming. The opposing lineman just let you run right by, think about it! (I saw this for anyone, not just specifically this game. Even in college some how they just don't see it.) Anyways! Yeah, not all that surprising, other than the fact that Farragut scored 41 on them.
  10. For Farragut always having been a run first team, it totally somehow doesn't surprise me that they would end up passing the game away. There have been so many games where Farragut has won late by running the ball, whether it was from controlling the clock, or getting a long run to take the lead. I think a game in '02 comes to mind? vs. Bearden. Basically running the clock out to go to OT tied at 24, and.. I can't remember who is was? Michael Wright? Took it about 70-80yds with a minute left to take the lead, and get the win 30-24. @ William Blount a few years ago(2007?) with Andre Sterling. 45ish seconds left and he breaks a 70+ yd TD. Of Course, WB came back to score in under 40 seconds and failed the 2pt attempt, but still. I'm not sure where I was trying to go with that other than, as much as they run, somehow I'm not surprised they throw at awful times.
  11. RR, you seem really 'confident'. I remember a lot of people from DB being that way about a specific sport. Gotta love coacht.
  12. AE also is giving up like 42pts a game this year (West scored the least out of anyone so far at 31).. and Mo East is giving up 33. Even Maryville is giving up 24+. AE is scoring 12pts a game (West let them score 15, the most out of any team so far) and Mo East is scoring 7. Maryville of course is 40+.
  13. Farragut isn't THAT big anymore. Last I herd they were only at like 1700-1800. I guess that's big, but that's 3/4 the size from when I was there in '07. About the game, I must say I was quite surprised to see the out come of this one. It's nice to see Farragut starting a game off strong. That's always been an important thing for them. Farragut, in the past, always seemed like it just sort of... not quit playing or gave up, but, tried less? in some games when they struggled early and got down quickly. Obviously there are exceptions like the OR game last week.
  14. honestly former44, it's Farragut, how does any of that surprise you? They've been doing stupid stuff like that since as long as I can remember (minus the passing, that's a recent thing, seemed like they used to just run it 90% of the time). The only difference over the last 6 or so years is they've had a decent amount of talent to make up for stupid play calling/game planning, to an extent.
  15. I don't think Farragut was ever down 42-0, but maybe I'm just nitpicking. Can't say I saw the game, but the way things seemed to have been going the last few years for Farragut I don't expect this season to be a very good one. Quickly on our way to being 5-5 or worse every year... again
  16. Honestly, I'm pretty surprised Farragut made it to state without their 1 and 2 pitchers. I thought they might have a shot without #1, but, when I heard 2 went down and then they had to go to KDB, I wan't expecting a loss, but, I wasn't as confident as years past that's for sure. It's nice that they started a few freshman pitchers this year to get them some experience for the next few years. Only 3 or 4 seniors is pretty nice too. I'd say they should be the favorites next year, but then again people, no matter how many players are returning, seem to want to not pick Farragut.
  17. When I went to Farragut I never knew of someone going there that didn't live in Farragut. Not saying it never happened, or isn't happening. I just never knew about them. I feel like that'd be something people would randomly know. Like, wow you commute 45 minutes? or an hour? Then again, you can say the same about Maryville and Alcoa in football.
  18. If only teams with the best pitcher won, wouldn't Science Hill have won with Daniel Norris? I mean, they didn't even make it to the championship game when he was there.. and at least once, didn't make it past sectionals. You have to have a team around the pitcher too. A pitcher can't win without run support.
  19. What is there to say they lost by 1 while using a freshman pitcher who had never even played varsity before. Plus it's not like KDB is bad. Don't they claim to have the most history in all of tennessee when it comes to baseball or something? i doubt most of the people that would post on here would know anymore about how the tournament was run than anyone else that attended the thing.
  20. based on the Farragut website, they beat Noblesville, IN 9-3. Lost 3-0 to Science Hill and tied Jefferson County 6-6. No clue on stats and not sure on their 4th game. Like was stated above, and seems typical when Farragut hosts these things, not all of the scores have made the website.
  21. Maybe on the website the rules for determining ties is merely for determining who won a pool. not the seeding. I know that doesn't make any sense at all, but, like someone else said. It's Farragut. If theyre the host team, and they go undefeated in their pool they might as well be the #1 seed. It's not like it's a super duper official omg state tournament. I also doubt any other school wouldn't do the same. Anyways. Maybe with the semifinals they didn't want to basically have 2 teams play district teams. They wanted them to play someone different. Thus Farragut vs. Science Hill and KDB vs. Bearden. That makes the most sense out of anything. Why travel to play in a tournament just to play teams you already forced to play at least twice. Why Bearden over Sevier Co. I dunno, that's a different issue I guess. Another thing. I hate the whole pool play/tournament thing. especially with 5 pools and 4 semifinal slots. If you're going to do pools and a tournament world cup style.. Every pool winner should advance. not 4 out of 5. that just seems crazy.
