Back in the day Oak Ridge vs Central, Summers vs. Helton 1991 playoff. No that should have been the State Championship Game.

Funny how that was only the second time the teams met, yet it had the feeling of a rivalry that had been going on for a hundred years. I'll never forget that night... sure was quite cold that night, eh?

I'm not sure who the 2 teams were, but it was in CSS this past year. I think it was the Georgia state playoffs. This team was down by 2 with like 20 seconds left and had the ball aroud the 30 with no timeouts. They ran a play but didn't get out of bounds to stop the clock. They somehow got their field goal team on the field and snapped it with like .2 seconds left. The kicker just barely cleared the cross bar to win.

the best short term rivalry this year in region 5-5A was mcgavock vs galatin. last year mcgavock had a horrible head coach and lost 55-6 or some outrageous score, and then found that they had an illegally zoned player on their team and galatin had to forfeit their season. and this year galatin came back and played mcgavock AND LOST. mcgavock stomped the ever loving everything out of galatin.

it was a very good game for mcgavock and their new head coach Arcentae Broome. look for it to be heated up just as much next year WOOT WOOT

For me personally, it will always be White House- Portland. A battle of neighboring communities....Through the years, it has always been an incredible atmoshpere and matchup. 9 times out of 10 it is a close game......

Tennessee and East is a good one although it's a bit one sided. DB and Oak Ridge is also another good rivalry.

Campbell Co. vs Karns, every year its seems these teams are matched fairly evenly, no matter if they did well or fighting not to finish last region. They also hit very hard against each other, its tough usually low scoring. Who ever can make the one touchdown or field goal usually wins.

Franklin - Brentwood 2002 Regular season game at Brentwood. Great atmosphere, stands full as always, people 4 and 5 deep standing around the track, on the hill, at the concension stands - everywhere.

Franklin ties the contest on 45 yard hail mary from Matt Solima to Joe Bell as the clock runs to :00.

 

Franklin blocks Brentwoods FG attempt in OT, the David Campbell from Franklin hits the game winner as the Franklin crowd floods the field.

 

Still hear Pat Sperduto saying "no one deserves to loose this game, great game, no one desrves to loose this game"
