I play, but I'll tell you we have multiple fronts on defense with a base 50, very multiple sets on offense based out of I, and a dang big chip on our shoulder this year... :(  :(

What's the chip from and what kind of senior leadership do ya have?? Who's your go to guy on offense RB or WR?? Tell me something about your Quarterback as well! ;)

Nobody belives in us except ourselves. We're not complaining, but we will win peple over.

Our senior class is the largest/strongest we've had in a very long time, at over 20 to 30 strong. We return 16 starters from last year, mostly upperclassmen. We have 3 or 4 guys in the backfield capable of taking it the distance every time and a strong line made up of 4 out of 5 upperclassmen. QB started the last three games as a frosh when junior QB was moved to RB last year. He is very mature for his age and is accurate and tall. In our system, that will do wonders. We have a totally different scheme on offense this year, thanks to our new OC, and our defense is built around speed and movements.

Saw you guys in Browning Hall at TTU last week. Looks like you had a great off season and really worked hard in camp. There will be lots of folks believing in you by the mid-way point of the season. Good luck and "Get-er-done"!!!!!!

Thank you and good luck to you too this season. Can't wait to line up and play!! 13 days 'til them Jets.

QB is Dawson Halliday, #7. OC is formerly of the Atomic City, that's all I have to say.

I heard that Halliday hurt is sholder at the camp and did not get to scrimmage in the Kingston game b/c of it. Offensive coordinator is Ron Gray and he makes them wear wrist bands b/c they cant remember the plays. Is this true?

Halliday did not scrimmage, but he is back this week. Idk what you're talking about with the wristbands, but even if we did have them, there's no shame in that. We're learning a highly effective and multiple offense in under a month. You try it. Ever watch college football? All of Clemson's players wear wristbands, so they must not know the offense right???? Quit taking cheap shots.

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
