The goal to beat O.S. was admirable, and desirable. However, they are not a part of the big picture, just a side note on what this team wants to accomplish. Teams that play ball like O.S. did Friday night are down the road. It was a good game to prepare for those teams.Put it behind you, check your guts, and take your desires to the region.

Admirable and Desirable?

This was the super bowl for Coalfield if you weighed the hype and emphasis the school, fans, and posters directed toward Oliver Springs and this game. Its very similar to AA Alcoa and AAAA Maryville.

While certainly Coalfield has a lot of football to play as it attempts to qualify for the playoffs, competes for a region championship, and a possible deep run into the the singe "A" playoff. However, to undersell that manyCoalfield fans thought they would beat up on what it assumed was a non-talented OSHS team. This was conveyed during the summer and just look back at the posts of the week as Coalfield even proclaimed superiority. This is understood by most. We saw it on the board all week leading up to the game. Now, to undersell this game was just a typical non-region game of non-importance is comical. My advice to Coalfield, is before proclaiming superiority, win some games in the series before you start to boast you can beat up on any Coach Johnson coached OSHS team. OS record against Morgan County teams speaks for itself.

Its never any fun when you are a school like Oiver Springs playing schools like Coalfield. OSHS is expected to win. You have everything to lose and very little to gain from these type of games. That is possibly why OS plays the game periodically instead of anually. Its difficult to explain losing that one game out of ten in the series or when you do beat up on a them, for people to use we are a "small" school and it was expected and we will see you next year. However, the reality was Coalfield actually thought it was going to destroy Oliver Springs this season. As OSHS, under the astute direction of Frank Johnson, showed that there is a huge difference in between a good AA program and a good A program.

Congratuations to Coach Johnson and the Bobcats as OSHS is indeed moving on tho Bigger and better things as the season progresses.
