Who is the Top Receiver in Chattanooga area?

Great post? You have got to be kidding! Not only did he get all the stats wrong, which he did, just go check it again, but he gave no supporting evidence to back up his opinion. I will get on here and say that Grace Academy is better than McCallie.  They have a 4-0 record, McCallie lost a game.  So what do you think of that?  Where is the support for such an asinine statement?  Come on you guys, if you are going to make a statment support it with some objective reasoning, and stop arguing like a bunch of emotional women. (nothing against women, only that the stereotype is that women are more emotionally argued than are men, it may be true and it may not).

Robinson is very talented and has the "liability" of playing on a run oriented team, (some would argue that is no liability because he will get more pub becaues of it) but so is Skogen.  How many times has our "poster" seen Skogen play?  Probably zero and yet he is on here pontificating about that which he knows nothing.  Temple's program is not what others are, not yet and possibly not ever, but that is no reason to take away from individual talent.  Seth is 6'4" 215, runs a 4.65 as of last spring and has done pretty well.  Give a guy credit for what he has done, it doesn't mean he is the best, it just means he has done well.

Grace beating McCallie? Come on dude.

Antonio is the best receiver in Chattown, there's not even a close second.

UH- the grace mcCallie thing he was being sarcastic to make a point- that would never happen-

you can't be serious that there isn't a close second- that'sa joke- but yes I know you are entitled to your opinion (however mislead it might be)

Oh my. Here once again we see the problem. I am not referring to his opinion, he is welcome to it, but I refer to the fact that he can't read. Go back and read it again...slowly. This was obvious sarcasm to make a point, the point being made was that if you are going to say something, then try and back it up with supporting evidence, that will make you look intelligent. So then, as an illustration, exaggerated for effect I say, 'Grace will beat McCallie because they have a better record'. Anyone can say anything just back it up.

Let's do a practice set. You say "Antonio is the best...there's not even a close second." Ok, now, why do you say that? Support it. If you can do so convincingly, then you will win the day, if you can't then maybe you are wrong, maybe there is a close second, or forbid, someone who is even as good or better.

I've had the opportunity to see Ty Levie of Baylor play and he gets my vote. He has the size to be a physical receiver and the best hands I've seen. The East Ridge game on TV he made an unbelievable over the shoulder catch and have heard that he had one like it against Central in the corner of the end zone. He also outran Brentwood's entire secondary to score Baylor's only touchdown two weeks ago.

Ok, my bad. I read through the post once and cound't believe what I was reading. I didn't bother to read it twice. Sorry.

I will however, give and example. Lets say Antonio Robinson is Robert Meachem from Tennessee (SP), and Skogen is some receiver at a DIII school (Temple), who all they do is throw the ball. Now, Meachem is one the best recievers in the nation, but he will not put up the kind of stats that the other guy might because he plays against top compition and because TN is a running team like South Pittsburgh. ( I know S. Pitt. doesn't play the stiffest competion, but its better than Temple's) However, the kid from the DIII school will put up some crazy numbers but will get nowhere while doing it. Who would you rather have on your team?

I hope that made sense. lol

By the way, I think Atchley would be second.

And here is what I am saying- you put Seth on South Pitt- with a quarterback who can throw like Kevin Smisthson- and nobody touches them- even without Kevin- Seth is good enough to be a reciever at south pitt and still lead the city if not the state in receptions and don't say he isn't until you have seen him play- AND the kid is only a junior-

I also think it was a bad analogy b/c a DIII school and Tennessee wouldn't be in the same region- or conference-

Did Baylor have that Ty Levie kid when they scrimmaged Soddy?

Yeah Ty is #39 he is a wide reciever and safety (one of the city leaders in interceptions) and punt returner (TD vs. Boyd). Ty is very good and is very big (6'-6'1" maybe and 185 lbs.) and has good speed for a high-school kid (4.65). I also think a great reciever is Joel Bradford from McCallie.

    • A complete cultural change happened at Greeneville and the administration and community opened up their checkbooks.  What a lot of people don't know is Ballard was Zeller's OC for many years and stopped coaching for two years because Zeller and Ballard didn't see eye to eye on some things.  Zeller lead Greeneville to it's first ever Semi Final appearance in 2000 and lost 28-12 at Maryville and had them in the Quarter Finals in 2002 and 2003.  Z was a great coach but lost some control when it came to making workouts mandatory. (He learned from that Mistake and it was at LC when i coached with him.).  Z was let go going into my Senior Year and was replaced by Steve McCurry who was the one that turned the program around.  Steve had won a 4a state championship at AC Reynolds in Asheville and made the administration completely redo the weight room with new equipment, had a football period at the end of the school day to lift, started devil camp, and brought in coaches like Danny Bentley (Still the OL coach), Ballard as the OC, Cody Baugh (QB coach and still there), and even Spradlen who is Greeneville's head coach now as the DB's Coach.  McCurry only coached for two seasons at Greeneville and took a team that had a losing record the year before and finished my Senior Year making it to the Quarters and having a 10-3 record and then followed it up with a Semi Final appearance the next year with an 11-3 record and back to back conference championships.  Loved McCurry to death but the recession hit and the story i heard was he was still buying new equipment for the team that the Principal didn't authorize and his response was "I don't answer to you and only to Niswonger and Bewley" (Two huge donors).  That was it for him and they Promoted Ballard shortly after that.   Greeneville had always been relevant ever since the the late 70's under Coach Fred Sorrell's.  Since Sorrell's took over in 1977 Greeneville overall winning percentage is over 76%.  The biggest reason people might not have thought Greeneville was "Good" until Ballard was Greeneville always played up Classification wise and could never get over the hump. (When there were 3 classifications we played 3a, when it went to 5 we played 4a).  Greeneville is the largest its ever been with 953 students and where playing teams 2 or 3 times there size back in the day (I had a little over 800 kids in the school when i graduated in 2008).  Other teams always would know they would be sore after a game but depth took over and never won a Championship until Greeneville played in the classification the TSSAA actually assigned them. You had names like Dustin Moore (1993 Mr Football for 3a and who Phillip Fulmer said was one of the greatest athletes he ever recruited), James "Mud Turtle" Mayes, Brigham Lyons, Byron Gillespie, Frankie Debusk (National Champion Qb at Furman with GQ), Jasmine Lowery, Cody Baugh, The Greenway Brothers, Joe Watson (Furman), etc.  Now the cultural is from the Pee Wee league up and you grow up as a young kid wanting to wear the Greene and White.  Here is a really good link when it comes to anything Greeneville Football related. https://greenevillefootball.com/   I also don't coach anymore.  Z told me i was to smart with how the school systems are ran these days and ended up going into real estate in Knoxville which has been a great decision for my life.
    • Yes, they will. I'm wondering what kinds of strides Sale Creek will make heading into the second season under Coach Fitz.
    • No yellow stripes on the rug last night. Biggest crowd I’ve seen at 825 since the alco debacle.
    • I know most Pirate starters were seniors last year. Im not sure how accurate it is but someone said we only have 3 seniors. That Prep team will probably make some noise this coming season too.
