Top Receivers in Chattanooga area

I've played against Smithson and he's the real deal.

He played great against us last friday and he did some things I've never seen a high school player do. I was really impressed with his ability to thread the needle with his passes and do it under tremendous pressure. Of course, he has some great receivers to catch them like Smith and Skogan.

So, some of y'all need to give credit where credit is due. I mean, when you throw the ball as much as this guy does he's going to have some int's. But keep in mind the stud has like 2500 yards so far this season and it ain't over. I know alot of guys that are drooling at the mouth for numbers like that.

I have a greater respect for Smithson (than I did before) after being on the same field with him and seeing, first hand, what the kid can do.

i have seen coleman twice yes, but i have not seen smithson live, however i have seen tape of him playing so i guess technically i have seen him....he is good, never said he wasn't and you can look back to the beginning of all my posts since joining coacht however many years ago, but just trust me, until you see coleman you wont understand, he just is a one of a kind talent that you dont see too often, especially in the chattanooga area..and to think he's only a junior and how much he can improve

Thanks. I certainly am not doubting your opinion about Coleman, almost everyone that has seen him would agree with you, I just haven't had the opportunity yet, but I hope to. What tape did you see of Smithson? Just curious if it was one of his better games.

Back to the topic...receivers. I find it interesting that you mention Coleman being a junior, I agree that with another year to play and doing that well, he must be the real deal.

But why does no one make the same arguement about the Skogan kid from Temple, he is only a junior as well and look at what he is doing! Size, speed, what does he lack? I know, I know, he plays for Temple...but if he, like Coleman works hard, he will be playing somewhere on Saturdays...he too can improve!

a lot of people on here who say that probably dont know who he is, and are just tired of these posts being bombarded by 8 different temple people saying the same thing, so they think you are just trying to pump him up or something..thats just how it seems to me what people think that dont know anything about the kid

I think it's just all about respect and exposure, that's all.

Sometimes Temple people can be annoying -- but when you have some legitimate players like they have on this football team -- they're just proud of these guys and want others to know it. If people don't want to read about it, then just ignore it and move on.

well, I would push it further- I think Skogen is the best in Chattanooga- (we have already established his numbers wouldn't be as good if he was on a team that mixed it up) but I don't think anyone at any division could stop him.... Kevin if not THE best in Chattanooga and east tennessee- is the 2nd- with that I would argue these two can be compared with anyone in the state- top 10 or 5 in the state at their positions...

That comment is revealing about your football IQ. Sorry, I almost had some respect for your comments, but you have taken care of that.

160 yards rushing per game is very strong what did Gerald Riggs run for his JR. and SR. season? What has Dustin Lindsey rushed for thus far? Do you even know the Chattanooga All Time Rushing Record is?

WOW!! I'm impressed SergeantOwl!! (not really)

I can do it too!!

Here are Gerald Riggs Jr's high school stats:

Rushed for 4,162 yards and 66 TDs his Junior and Senior years

Also made 225 career tackles

Red Bank High School had a 37-12 record and playoff bids all four years that Gerald was a starter

School records:

-- career points (550)

-- career rushing yards (6,046)

-- career TD's (90)

-- career rushes (724)

-- season points (244)

-- season rushing yards (2,437)

-- season TDs (39)

-- game rushing yards (325) and longest gain (98)

Let me throw in the fact that he led Red Bank to 5A state crown over Murfreesboro Riverdale as a junior, and was the MVP
