All i can say is wow. Im glad i went to this game. What a comback. down 23-7 at the half, and then oak ridge runs a punt back right at the begininng of the 3rd quarter to make it 30-7. Ooltewah did not lay down. They must of learned from the earlier game with Cookeville. Its not over until its over. Ooltewah passed the ball around Oak Ridge the whole 2nd half. #40 got open twice for 2 HUGE gains, very important plays to put Ooltewah in the red zone twice as well as catching the game winning catch. i think Oak Ridge turned it over twice in the 2nd half, 1 was off a monster hit on Oak Ridges receiver #2. He fumbled and then another one was off another receiver dropping it as well. That really killed Oak Ridge, and gave Ooltewah new light. Oak Ridge is still a very good team, dont let this fool you since they lost, but this just shows you anything can happen. Ooltewah can hang some of the top teams without a doubt if they play like they did in the 2nd half.

I watched the play and yes they were both turnovers. The first one was a catch and came down with 2 feet, took a step and then DeWayne Caldwell decleated him. The other was an interception. Oak Ridge is still one of the top teams in the state. Athletes all around the field. Gulmire is a beast!

I'll have to see the replay, but I believe both turnovers ruled fumbles were actually incomplete passes that were dropped, not fumbled...but, hats off to Ooltewah. They took advantage and converted 14 points on those incomplete passes they recovered. #40 for the owls is a stud.

The second turnover, could have been an interception. I think #33 for Ooltewah grabbed it off the tacklers back, I don't think it hit the ground. No matter the Owls got a much needed win. Way to go boys.

Yes your right if they loose and Blount and Ooltewah both win they will be 3rd seed. I really think this region could go 4-0 against Region 1 in the first round.

All i know is that this throws the playoffs outta whack. At first i thot that region 6 and 4 were the top regions in the state but i didnt realize that ooltewah was good enough to rally while behind 23 points against the number 2 team in the state. This region is teaching me a lesson i thot it was an oak ridge and riverdale quarter final but who knows. Congrats on that big win owls and i hope they continure to impress me. Maybe theyll get there shot at riverdale in the playoffs i kno the fans whould like that. What a game.

Region 4 5A might have the best team in the state but region 2 5A is the best region in the state seed one thru four.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
