Heritage Vs. William Blount

If you really think WB has a remote chance of getting past Riverdale and going to Murfreesboro, then you need to get your head examined.

Ya think? I think Riverdale is one of the finest programs in the southeast. But I always default to that Any Given Friday thing. Riverdale, like all teams are beatable. make some mistakes at the wrong time and your doomed.

Yes any team is beatable if they are playing a team in the same ballpark. WB is nowhere near the same ballpark as Riverdale. The only way Riverdale would lose to WB is if either the bus crashed on the way to the game or half the starters tore their ACLs before the game. Get realistic guys?!?!?!?

riverdale will be beat by a team from the region william blounts in this year . . this i know, and william blounts got as good of athletes as riverdale any day . . 2 backs that are as fast if not faster than anyone on riverdales team, so if their line comes to play it is actually quite realistic,. . . get off their nuts

That might be the funniest thing I have ever heard. You are quite the comedian. If WB makes it to the semifinals and beats Riverdale or whoever is there--which they absolutely won't--I will give you $1,000 in cash. What will you give me when WB doesn't get past the 1st or 2nd round?

What a thing to say.

Riverdale the past ten years has made 7 trips to the State Game with a record of 3-4. All 4 times the past 4 years. Incredable feat and a great program coached by one of the best, but let's not get too silly!

I look for a low scoring game. WB can run the ball fairly well but they aren't the best passing team around. WB will have to throw some to beat that Heritage defense. Heritage did a better job of shutting down the Maryville running attack than any other opponent Maryville faced. Heritage can he had on the pass. Oak Ridge's running game was slowed down when they played Heritage. OR killed Heritage in the air.

What will hurt Heritage in this game is they won't have the firepower that WB has on offense. Heritage is struggling offensively.

I think WB wins 17-7.

This is always a great game and records mean nothing. It's a special year with both being on the bubble for the playoffs.

I'm gonna go way out the box with this pick. Govman is gonna think I'm pickin on the Govs again...

HHS 20

WBHS 17

That's all right Nation. You're like FBE ... you're picking with your heart. Blount by the way is not "on the bubble" for the playoffs. We're in. And WE WILL be seeded third. And WE WILL win our first round game of the playoffs. I'm glad that Coach Rewis has Heritage on the upswing. He's a great guy ... and Heritage is a great school and I love to see them do well. But Blount is a step ahead in the building process and that will be evident tomorrow night.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
