well we won another "dog fight" the better team won tonight but like i said earlier next year or the year after we better look out sonny has got a cannon for an arm(like i didnt already know that) but if you wasnt there his arm strength is incredible i really wished he had gone to RIVERDALE another is that wilkes kid we could not tackle him he is tough and they definalty will be hard to handle in the years to come

great game proud of my warriors for the way they answered every adversity that you had all night lots of penalties AGAIN that must stop after this week NO MORE enjoy this win tonight and get back to work tomorrow

I couldn't hear well as the band was making noise as usual, but didn't the announcer say Gaston went over 200 yards tonight? I guess Coach Shad had better re think his 'plan' on how to stop Gaston.

I will give Smyrna credit as they did give us a tough game. Now on the Cookeville!

Smyrna played tough and never quit. I think our guys let up a couple times thinking the bulldogs would quit but it just never happened.

 

Our offensive line played one of their best games of the season tonight. Give my game ball to the OL.

 

When I walked in and saw Philip Stevenson standing on the sidelines in sweats I began to do a little sweating of my own. The fact that we handled the Smyrna offense without two starters on defense is a testament to how good this defense can play. Congrats to the defense on an outstanding job. There were some young defensive backs that got some valuable experience last night. On one series I saw three underclassmen playing in the defensive backfield. That will help next year.

 

Talk about impact skill players; it would be hard to find better ones than Gray, Wilks, Butler, Miller, A. Smith, and Thomas. All of those guys, and others, play the game at a championship level.

 

One thing is for sure, and that is that Smyrna came in planning to win the game and believing they could do it. Coach Shadowens is doing a super job and should be recognized for the way he has built the program.

 

Most importantly, I think it's great that they moved the teepee down to the playing field.

 

On to Cookeville!

I give my game ball to Kit Hartsfield. To me he gets better and better each game. He was all over the field. And Rick Collins utilized that blitz very well, it looked like they were playing backyard football they rushed so much!

 

Hey what was wrong with Stevenson? I saw when there was a pass thrown into the Riverdale sideline he jumped up for it like he was playing!!

Stevenson 'may' have an ulcer. I am sure some buttermilk and yogurt will have him ready for next week. 'If' he can get those down that shows REAL dedication to a program.

 

Now Cookeville fans, where exactly are we gonna play? Has the field dried out yet? And most important of all........what y'all got to eat?
