Sweep Left
Montoye what kind of win/loss record does he have? I know they are still interviewing this week and next.
HoundDog55
I have'nt heard a lot. I did hear that DeMatteo, Hayworth, and Rankin DO NOT have any interest in the job. Coach Carson was seen in the field house this week. He may have been for an interview, I dont know for sure though. Apparently, there are two assistants from Riverdale that have applied. I do not know thier names. If anyone else knows anything more, please post and If anything I have posted here is incorrect, please forgive me. It's like pulling teeth to find out anything around here.

Carson has interviewed I heard Jack Daniels from Brentwood had shown an interest FC needs a coach that's going to stay and build a program, not one looking to move in and move on. The powers to be wanted one of two coaches...Coach Bonner and another canidate (who is well known and has ties to this area). They have been very persistent in their pursuit of these 2 inidviduals. The plan was to have someone in place early. This had been in the works since the Warren Co game. They handled Coach Mantooth's situation very poorly. They need someone to fall in their laps, such as Coach Wild did for the girls basketball team. Personally, Coach Collins would be acceptable, as well as Coach Mac. I do not think they will hire Coach Carson at this time. The football banquet is this week and I am glad that Coach Mantooth will be there. He is a fine man and taught the players a lot about life and football.
2priceless
Did Collins pulll his name out of contention this week? That is the word that is swirling round the Boro.
DelTavian
As previously said, this has been in the works for awhile and I believe they know who they want. I hear they will name the new coach within a couple of weeks. A couple of fairly well known head coaches have shown interest or been contacted. I don't think this is the time to list those names, but they are good men. Del, Coach Colquette did apply 5 yrs ago, but I am sure he will not be the new coach at Franklin Co. The new facilities are great and the supplement is now up to par. A couple of good assistants are in place. Coach Mantooth was short 2 assistants this past yr. The Rebels booster club is very solid and the community will support the program. We need a hard working coach who is a c lass act and gets out in the community. Hopefully, he will have strong discipline and not get too close to the parents and allow them to have a say so in who plays what position. Coach Mantooth is a great football coach and a class man. Good luck to him and Suzy. Need a hard working coach and that won't get too close to the parents? Sounds like you're missing the boat by not taking Colquette. Sounds like a perfect fit for him. Put him back in a coaching job where all he has to worry about is football and I'm sure he can produce wins. I think you guys need to rethink this. I think Colquette is your man. DL. HoundDog55
You may be right David. Colquette was a proven winner at MC. I dont really know what happened at Grundy. The veere? never worked for him there. Has he applied at FC? I lost track of him after Grundy. I hope your right about the parents. I hope whoever they hire dont fall into that. (Not that the Tooth did, just dont want the next one to do it )

I know at least two names I've read on this thread have, maybe three.
RebelGeorge
I don't think Coach Ken Colquette would be a good fit at Franklin Co. He did not win as many games as he promised at Grundy Co. They Yellow Jackets finished 5-6 his last yr. I think he is still the principal and ad at Grundy Co. Word was that he was making big bucks and I think his wife is the assistant principal. Coach Rogers (AD) and the powers to be keeps stating how they made a good hire in Coach Wild and that they will hire a good football coach. I hope so. Coach Wild was an excellent choice, but he more or less fell in their laps. However, Coach Rogers also hired the current boys basketball coach and that choice is turning out to be a poor one. We had a good football coach and this hire is a critical one. I am hoping we hire a good football coach and a good man.

That is a pretty intersting post, I guess now that any coach who has resigned a position or been fired does not deserve the chance to coach again. That is great tell the New England Patriots that.
