According to the T$$AA website, FC athletic director will not take any more applications for the job after this Friday, Dec. 9

I also heard there has been two interviews per day for about three weeks. Lots of interest in this one.

First round of interviews are over..................second round begins soon for the finalists..........not sure how many there are that are considered "finalist"

Does anyone know anything about Coach McCurry? What kind of man He is and what His coaching style is? I know he played His High School ball at FC, and once Coached at Tullahoma, Moore Co, and Marshall Co.

He is a very good coach. Great motivator and intense. He averaged 10 wins a year while a Moore County from 87-98. Made the play-offs every year and Clinic Bowl once and layed the ground work for the 99 Clinic Bowl team before he left. Heck he went 4 years without losing a region game and 5 straight region titles. I think he made the play-offs every year while at the other MC. He also did very well this year at Ripley High School in MS. He made it ot the third round in his first year.

I will be very surprised if he takes the job. I would love to see him come back to TN though and take it.

They were naming the finalist today. Anyone know who they were?

It appears that all interviews have not been completed. This will be drawn out for awhile longer. One of the finalists appears to be Devin Delaughter. He is an assistant at McCallie and played at Tullahoma and University of the South. Coach Mac is still the favorite, but several people have voiced their concerns about hiring him.

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
