ok my break is almot over, ill hit this one question to clear the webs... lets see translation. he was saying looking at how maplewood freshmen team pounded all foes last year in route to championship with those guys moving up ..a good spring session with t -holt and others working hard this spring.. maplewood is gonna keep rolling!! just like they shocked a lot of teams last year it wont be a shock this time around... dem panthers are coming so run for da hills!!

 

i thinks thats what he said...and the english department at maplewood is excellent by the way ..remember its essential to be able to comprehend multiple language forms and or barriers, in other words diversify your vocabulary.

As far as who is going to be good as far as the Nashville/Metro Schools are concerned you've got to look at Maplewood and Pearl-Cohn. Both of those schools have a really good shot at winning 4A and 3A respectively this upcoming season and what is even better is the fact that these two schools will be playing one another in week one.

 

Expect for Hillsboro to continue to be a playoff team despite the fact that Aydelott is gone. McGavock will continue to win with Arcente Broom at the helm of that program.

 

Whites Creek, Stratford, Antioch, Overton, Hillwood, Hunters Lane, and Glencliff are teams that either have key question marks due to losses from last year's teams OR they are teams that just weren't very good at all last fall and major improvements are needed.

I believe the thread was concentrating on the Metro schools only but you are right. David Lipscomb and Goodpasture (along with Ezell) both will be very good this upcoming season. Can't wait to see these two clash to kick off the '06 season.

Metro football teams seem to be on the decline and are fighting a tough battle this season. McG, lost the guy that ran the offense, Ovt, lost their defense, WC lost alot of very good players, Ant, is trying to put a square peg in a round hole on offense, HB, lost all their coaches, HW, will take some time to recover, MW needs a scheme on offense to open up the field, HL, needs some coaches, PC in 3a could be good if the new coach can handle the stars, GHS needs more 5a players.

I dont think metro teams are on a decline at all. McGavock will still be solid as long as Broom stays and improves as all coaches should with experience, Overton lost some key players on defense and offense but their defense is always one of the best if not the best in metro, Anderson does an outstanding job on defense, they just need some "o", Whites Creek will be down but they are always big in the trenches, Antioch is changing the offense but sometimes change is exactly what is needed to improve and succeed, Hillwood---were they ever really all that good? I know they were undefeated two years ago but they didnt play anybody good that they beat except for Stratford who lost their quarterback in the second quarter, Maplewood will be good this year and may be a real threat in 4A, Hunters Lane has good coaches and I think they too will be solid this year and will be in the playoffs as the #4 team, Pearl Cohn doesnt impress me too much, they are very unorganized and dont have anybody to keep them in line like Maurice did. All in all I think this could be metros year to take on Williamson County.
