everyone has to remember that CC played the 10th toughest schedule in the state last year and with the exception of Baylor, Brentwood, and Overton had a chance to win every game and they were starting mostly sop.

And they played cookeville better than anyone in the region, and had Lincoln County beat even LC coaches admitted that CC won that game because they had one clear td taken away and another that was very questionable.

still 2-8

Shucks, too bad they wouldn't let you replay the game when the team was feeling better. That disappointment thing should have gotten the game rescheduled. I am surprised the refs let the game be played if they knew the players were playing disappointed. That is so unfair to the players. I wish they would have players tested before the games and make sure they are all going at 100% and have no disappointment that they are carrying from their last game. Oh Well.

Ole Dad

i'll agree that was a very bad game the score was 0-0 at the half we were flat and still dissapointed after the tullahoma game

Actually Cumberland Co will probally drop to 4A. I wish they could go all the way to 3A. Stone is going probally start out 3A

Unless I am mistaken Football schedule already in place for 2006 season. Games are scheduled 2 years at a time in Football. So Cumberland County will still be 3-5A. I think you will see new enthusiasm from Cumberland County-Great new Coach in Shultz!

Good hire for the Jets. As far as this yr, the Jets will be a hard nose football team who plays hard and tries to outhit you from the kickoff to the final horn. I think they still lack speed and skill players to finish above 3rd, but it should be fairly even between the Jets, Coffee Co, Franklin Co and Warren Co for the 3rd and 4th playoff spots. I love coming to Crossville and playing golf.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
