Congrats Shelbyville the other team in Shelbyville for many years. Great accomplishment and even though there is still a long way to go these boys have worked hard and do deserve it. Dont know if the boys ever been ranked this high. Stay focused doesnt mean anything now, keep getting better and getting the job done through out the rest of the year.

Looks like they are just basing this on the records..In Single A..Middleton is 8th..but has played a tough schedule..Hasn't lost to any Single A teams...Beat Adamsville by over 20 points but Adamsville is ranked higher..Union City has four or five losses but have lost mostly to out of state schools or powerhouses...Lake Co has only lost to 1 Single A team..Humboldt has only two losses and not ranked but other teams are ranked with more losses..Same Ole Same Ole...The A.P. poll is only going to vote for the teams in the Nashville and Knoxville area..West Tenn doesn't have enough newspapers voting..Seems like the pollsters doensn't keep up with all the teams..In Union City's case..North West pointed out yesterday that some of the teams are still in their other classes..So..I guess U.C. is still listed in Double A....

This is at the bottom of the coacht story on the front page. No knox news, no Chattanooga times free press. Not a very good representation.

How can CCS get 10 votes in class A? Did ten people not know they moved?

How can SOMEONE not notice this before it is published.

All Associated Press members in Tennessee are eligible to participate in the high school basketball poll. Those who voted for this week's poll are: The Leaf-Chronicle (Clarksville); Cookeville Herald-Citizen; Johnson City Press; Kingsport Times-News; Citizen Tribune (Morristown); The Tennessean (Nashville); WCMT, Martin; The (Columbia) Daily Herald.

There is no way 7 teams are better than Middleton

These polls are ludicrous as usual!

Only 8 media outlets statewide voted and only one in West Tenn. Raleigh Egypt is ranked # 5 in the SOUTHEAST and isn't even mentioned! Was told Ral-Egypt was still classified in AA on the ballot and that's why there were no votes. R-E didn't even receive votes in the AA poll so if all of the pollsters knew that already, why couldn't they have voted them in the AAA poll? Seems mighty flimsy. Hope this is corrected by next week!

Here's some things to take note of fellas...

1.) Like the football poll, some of the schools are not in there proper classes...Raleigh-Egypt was not listed in AA or they would've got my vote for sure.

2.) Basketball is a TOURNAMENT sport...who cares who's ranked No. 1 on January 10?
