Agree. Another thing that is funny is how these people think that there is a difference from county to city or that city folks are rich. This is funny because actually South and Central have many more 'preps' than any of the city schools. And if you think that so called 'city slickers' are not any more country than the county school folks, you need to think again. We are all in Upper East TN here. I would bet any amount of money that the overall demographics of Sullivan Central & Sullivan South will show a middle class, through upper middle class and upper class rate much higher than TN High, DB, or Science Hill. The funding may be better in the city schools, because that is how it is, but the people that go to city and county schools are the same and actually there is a higher poverty level in all three city schools than any of the Sullivan Schools, go do some research.

Yeah right Bud!!! South and Central do not have more Preps than Dobyns Bennett!! BIG DIFFERENCE. Thursday night (if you go) I want you to notice something ok, Look at DB's cheerleaders then look at Central's cheerleaders. HMMMMM. That's all I am gonna say about that. We at Central are more the "t-shirt and jeans" kinda people...

And why can't you Tribe fans give Central a little bit of credit, we pulled the big upset last Friday night and won the District championship, moving from AA to AAA. That's an accomplishment. You all act like DB is gonna murder Central Thursday night. IF YOU HONESTLY THINK CENTRAL DOESN'T WANT THIS WIN AGAINST DB YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. DB has a great ball team especially for the pre-season rankings they were getting. Will be a GREAT game, I can't wait. Good luck to both teams.

GO COUGARS!!! :P:P

Sullivan Central is one of the best shooting basketball teams, as a whole, I've seen in my time of covering high school b-ball. Everytime they got a glimpse of the rim they pulled the trigger without thinking twice...thats what it takes to be a shooter...know your capabilities...trust them...and shoot with confidence...they do that extremely well. If basketball games were decided completely on effort Jeff. County wins that basketball game. They were outmanned and outmatched, but they did'nt back down from the challenge and that deserves recognition. Who knows...if Jeff. County capitalizes on a few more easy buckets in the 1st half, and Hill doesn't foul out with almost 5 minutes left in the 4th we could be talking about a huge upset today. Nevertheless, Congrats to the winners yesterday and I look forward to the semi-finals...it should be exciting.

I think we should make you the Coacht Central high school poster child! I’m sure Central fans would love nothing better than to be represented to the rest of the world by such a moralistic and articulate person as yourself!!! You papa would be proud!! And your predictions…all I can say is WOW…amazing!!! :D:P:blink:

And what exactly do you think preps were these days…Isod shirts, members only jackets, and penny loafers??? NO…these days its holey jeans, faded t-shirts,(the Central kinda people) and those funny looken shoes with the holes in um. You know…just like the ones you have in your closet! The question is how many cell phones did you see hanging from those redneck jeans?

I agree totally with your statement that the average income per family is higher at the county schools because of the inner city youth at the city schools. But, the people that do have the money at these city schools have plenty of it and it shows.

Just one example of how uneven the funding is towards city schools and county schools: Did DB not import marble from somewhere (maybe India) for their new fieldhouse?

I could gone on about how TN High is playing baseball now and tell you that you can free to browse the Spring Sports section of the coacht message boards but I'm not. I will say that someone close to you had a heck of a 3 three years playing ball at TN High and always acted like a class act on the court.

Yeeeeah, like the DB kids just wear white tshirts with jeans and go bare-foot to school. What kinda cars do they drive anyways, Hummers, Mercedes, and Lexus'?

How much did Pal Barger donate to the new DB fieldhouse again? How much has he ever donated to a county school?

Can this THS fan join in on the truce…I for one am sick of the “redneck coalition”. I sure hope Central and South fans get their feel this year because next year it’s going to be back to business as usual for ALL the “CITY SLICKERS”!!! You county boys just remember next season…YOU drew this line in the sand. I thought I was going to put my maroon/burgundy apparel up for this season. :D

Seriously though…I have to say that I want to see all of the Big 9 teams do well in the postseason…city and county...but after you guys showed your true color (RED) in the district games, I have to admit that it has become much more difficult to even pull for Central (a team in which I admired and respect the players, the enthusiasm of fans, and their awesome student section). As a parent of student athletes in the “city schools” and even when I was a student athlete myself…I JUST DON”T GET IT!!! Why do a lot of the students and most of the former students from Central, South, and East carry such a big chip on their shoulders toward the three schools that just happen to be in the city limits???????? To pass on to your children your feelings that a certain group of people feel that they are better or smarter or richer than another because of where they live and you should dislike them because of this is (to me) a form of teaching separation…and as a parent of student athletes I REALY DON’T APPRECIATE IT!!! So why don’t you fined another way to sike yourselves or your kids up for the game…this is REALY GETTING OLD! Pull for a team because you have friends their or because you like their style of play, or even because the team that they are playing just put your team out of the district tournament. :D:angry:

Maybe you haven't noticed but the city people have done just as much bashing of the County schools, chants of County Rednecks, Inbred Rednecks, and etc. I think the county people are quite justified in being pretty excited and doing a little trash talking this past week. When we played Jefferson County and beat them last night, I didn't feel like I had to walk out of the arena quickly with my keys in my hand like I did when we defeated D-B twice and Science Hill last week, especially after all the cops ran outside during the awards ceremony.

The High and Mighty Central Cougar fans were riding the refs like a sway back horse tonight after the let a 3 win team, down 61-40, put up a 16-0 run on them to end the 3rd qtr... the Central "fans" were going crazy over the "lack of calls in their favor" against the Patriots for playing tight Defense... What are you going to do when the Refs don't call it your way this time? You won't be shooting 39 Free Throws vs 13 for the Indians.... that's 3-1 if you need the Ernest T Bass Math Stomp help.

Roll Tribe Roll

Giddy Up!!

when the refs miss 3-4 obvious travels by the other team, and call fouls on the wrong team away from the ball, the fans certainly have a right to complain. A Jeff County guy held the ball without dribbling on the floor for almost 5 seconds and was able to pass it to a teammate. Another time one of them fell completely forward with the ball and both his knees on the ground, and he was allowed to get up! As for the last D-B/Central game, Central would have been up 78-76 with 7 seconds left in regulation if not for the worst charging call I've ever seen in my entire life at any level. Another time Gabe and a Jeff County guy both had possession of the ball but they called a foul on him instead of a jump ball!

As for the game, I think Central would be very fortunate to beat D-B 3 out of 4 times in the same season, especially with so much on the line. I know they're capable of winning but D-B is a very good team that can run the floor and shoot lights out. They are a much better team than they were when Central beat them 78-64 in Kingsport and if they play well they could easily make it to MTSU.

That sounds ok but confusing, it will get you there too.

Thanks for the directions, if I'd followed them properly I would have gotten there sooner but I kept thinking Business 11-E was a different road. The directions were right on!

    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
