What are your thoughts on this game? Bearden (32-4) vs Raleigh-Egypt (34-1), in the opening game of the AAA Tournament. Bearden is led by Tony White Jr. and Raleigh-Egypt is led by Maurice Miller.

I have not seen the Pharaohs play, but will say this. If they have any inside presence, the Bulldogs might be in trouble. I think Bearden's Big 3 are going to have to carry them and hope that Simpson and Craig play like sophomores instead of freshman. Hopefully the Dawgs will be able to do what we couldn't do in 2002. Just take it one game at a time. Congrats to all the Bearden players on what has been thus far a spectacular season and could get a whole lot better.

I wish my Dogs the best of luck, but this one scares me. We have not played a team of RE's caliber all year and we can't simply out-athlete them. We need huge presence in the paint and our shooters are going to have to be on to hang with these boys. Our upperclassmen are going to need to step up big and our sniors need to play inspired b-ball. Get 'em boys.

I think this will be an excellent game. It is kinda of good to be playing a team that you don't know much about or for that matter a team all the way across the state. No one can really do alot of trash talking because neither team or its fans knows much about the other team. Based on the records, these two teams are two of the winnest teams in the state this year. It will be intresting how the post players step up for the Bulldogs. I will put the Bulldog guards up against anyone in the state. It should be a very high paced game and their should be alot of exciting action in the Boro. Too bad I can't get off work to attend but I'll be listening and keep track of the game on the internet. Good luck to both teams and it sure would be nice to bring one back to the DOGHOUSE

How good are Bearden's gaurds?? Raleigh Egypt has some pretty good ones. 6'3" junior Maurice Miller is being heavily recruited by Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt. 6'2" Derrick Grandberry and 6' Marcus Hunter are capable of scoring as well. Remember that Raleigh Egypt has lost in the state tournament the past two years to AA champion Bolivar. The 2004 semifinal loss was by 3 and the 2005 final loss was by 4 points. Raleigh Egypt is deep, big and quick. 6'5" Nathaniel Calhoun, 6'5" Tremaine Greene and 6'6" Derrick Edwards compile a formitable front line.
