Grace beats East Robertson 61-46

Eldridge had 27

Dilts 11

VanHorn 11

McMasters 7

Smith 5

I cant believe that the mcmasters is the best soph. in the state of tennessee. I ask one guy that was at the game with east roberson and he said that he is skinny and miss layups. I said missed layups he is six ten he needs to dunk the ball. I think that the soph. that played for union city is better that him.

You "asked" someone from East Roberson? Does that imply that you did not even attend the game? At any rate, I went to see for myself and came away VERY impressed with the McMasters kid. He did miss a couple layups at the beginning, bt it is not like they were uncontested. He caught passes in the air from teammates and bobbled them. I thought he just looked nervous in the beginning. Once he settled down, he probably had double digit blocks and rebounds. He also showed a very good shooting stroke, knocking down a three and a couple pull up jumpers. He took the ball the length of the floor off several rebounds and made some nice passes for layups. I thought he was an incredible talent, and was the clear difference in the game. He saved grace at least 10 points off blocked layups alone, and even blocked one of East Robertson's dunk attempts. I saw the UC game, and their sophomore is good, but not anywhere near the talent level of McMasters. He is going to be SCARY good if he continues to improve. I was sitting in the general vicinity of several college coaches, and as they all kept saying, you can't find a big man with his skill set too often.

Clemson and UT both want him from what I hear...

All I know to say to that is, Carter played better than anyone from Lake County did today.

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
