You can't just stop. You always have to get the last comment.

As far as the "stupid" part, I was just stating my opinion. The rest has already taken care of itself.

What in the heck are you talking about. I responed to a post about a 10 or 11 -0 soccer score. That is all.

I agree - didn't expect that one. Greeneville's basketball team plays the #5 team in the COUNTRY on Thursday so the expectation is to have the soccer team intact for Friday's game against Sullivan South (if you catch my drift).

both SS and Greenville are big competition for us this year, is a good game to see how strong they r. SS and farragut game raised my eye brows too. I m feeling that this year a lot of things will change.

Greg141 this isn't directed to you.

As a coach I feel a 17-0 or even a 11-0 score is too much. Last year we scrimmaged Franklin Girls J.V. team they were up 7-0 at half the game ended 8-0.

The Franklin Coach put the requirement in that goals must come from headers(the one that scored in the second didn't he pulled her). My girls didn't have a clue and left the field having felt they had played a much better second half(they did actually) and Franklin left knowing that they were the better team. In my eyes the perfect ending.(well except for the loss) I respect that coach much more than if the score had ended 15-0 and what would have been gained if it had? I feel you can show class even in at the high school level.

I agree with you totally, but I would say that we are in the minority on this one. Too often the feeling is, "It is my job to score on you, and yours to stop me". I am trying to coach the whole player. Life decisions, playing with class, what to do when there is a bad call, showing respect to a team that is much weaker than you. Argue with me all you want, but I won't change my mindset.

This is why you have a gameplan in advance. Know what you are going to do if you go up, and need to put limitations on them. Don't yell out "don't score any more". Have a signal with your captains. It can be done. Look at Hendersonville, who were state champs. The most they ever scored was 11 goals. Could they have scored more... of course. Father Ryan scored 11 goals just once against team last season. On average, they beat teams by 4 or 5.

I think the problem with this whole situation, was that these games came back to back. Spread out, it probably wouldn't have seemed as bad. Hopefully they will be playing some stronger teams soon.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
