I`ve never been a fan of the Reds, but man was this team loaded with great players.

That`s was one tough hitting line up!

 

Anyone know how many of those made the hall of fame? I`m counting Rose cause he was no doubt hall of fame caliber desoite his off field problems.

Correct me if I am wrong, but including Rose, it should be 4! Rose, Perez, Bench and Morgan! And if you include Sparky Anderson, it would be 5!

Geronimo hit 308 for the year and hit ninth in WS. Dan Drieson was DH. One of my all time favorite non Cardinal teams. MVP's of 1970, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1976, and 1977. Bench in 70 and 72, Rose in 73, Morgan in 75 and 76 and Foster in 77 with 52 home runs.

Don Gullet, Gary Nolan, Jack Billimgham, with Rawley Eastwick and Mcenhaney in the pen. Pretty decent pitching especially with an offense like that.

 

Remember Bill Spaceman Lee's Blooper pitch to Tony Perez in WS. Perez was always one of best clutch hitters around

I was not watching baseball then, being born in '90. But as a baseball junkie i do know that this was on heck of a lineup. I admire Johnny Bench and Pete Rose so much. Wow, that is a baseball team, who wouldnt love to manage that team
