Well I just read about this and I hate the fact that a symbol of the school was vandalized. I agree with everyone that the person or persons who did this be brought to justice. I also think that doing this sort of senseless vandalism is just plain stupid and gutless. It proves nothing and is worth nothing. I don't care how much you hate the school its football players its coaches or whatever...this goes beyond a friendly rivalry. Being a part of a school that has been the victim of such cowardly acts, I hope that Riverdale does all it can to find the criminals.

Personally I think that regardless of the appropriateness of Indian mascots, you still need to find the culprits and remove thier opposable digits, making hammer and or tomahawk wielding an unlikely future activity.

 

Be careful any school if you ever think of changing your mascot. I went to Syracuse University and in 1975 in a fit of PC'ness we went from a heroic, and honourable Indian warrior mascot, The Saltine Warrior, to an Orange (as in the fruit )

Everyone has to have a grievance. We are a nation awash on a sea of grievances. I can see that "Jeff" is doing much to promote and continue his heritage.

 

BTW, I have indian blood way back in the family tree and my only problem with the chief is that he looks a little too friendly.

I have Indian blood too and Im sorry but Im not any way offended by the "Warriors", the "Noles", the "Chiefs" or anything like that .. Its nonsense in my opinion
