Musta been some pillow fight! Bet you could barely see the field until all the feathers settled! :thumb:

Congrats to coach Gary Kreis. He deserved this win, and it has to be SWEET for him!

Good work Coalfield!

Good game, it is over, and we now move on. Good job BD, 281 yards on 39 carries. If Knight gets over some nagging problems that appeared to be on the heal, the Coalfield backfield will be dangerous. He got 60 yards on 10 carries himself.

WOW.

CYJacket what is Coalfields local newspaper or does Coacht have a link? Thanks great job Friday night.

The weekly is the Morgan County News. It is not online. The nearest report you will be able to read online is in the Prep-Xtra section of Then Knoxville News-Sentinel or The Oak Ridger. Both are on-line. I know the Knoxville paper had a good write up. Please don't be decived with the report re: last time Coalfield beat Town. It was 19 years ago, but we have only played about six times in the time period. The Ridger will be full of the OR/DB game but will have a blurb re: this game, maybe. The Sports editor got that prediction wrong.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
