South Fulton @ Bruceton

It just blows my mind how the old teams of this region have gone to crap...I'm originally from Greenfield, they have struggled for a couple years now, South Fulton is terrible when compared to five or six years ago, and Bruceton has fallen from probably the best public school team in 1A to about the fifth best in the region. It kills me to see these schools struggle so bad. I miss the good old days. Greenfield, South Fulton, and Bruceton fighting for first. Now you could throw Lake County back in there. Lake County was just going through some bad years 5-6 years ago. And now Gleason has really stepped it up from that time till now. I still think Union City and Mckenzie ruin this region. I miss the good old days, but maybe I'm just an old head and want this to go back the way they were and they never will. Oh well.....life stinks and then you die!!! :thumb:

I agree with you that Union City and Mckenzie has ruined this region. Thats what happens when 2a schools are playing in 1a. :thumb:

South Fulton's problems cannot be blamed on Union City or McKenzie. Good athletes embrace challenges. South Fulton needs to get stronger and better conditioned. Until they do, wins are going to be few and far between.

backinthaoc, FC is very good this year. Aaron Wilson and DaRon Williams are two excellent football players. They're running behind an energized line. After watching FC play in the jamboree, I was not surprised at the score Friday night.

Yea, its been about four years since Bruceton blew out SF and i believe it was 35-0, since then the game have been split each year:

2003- SF 42 B 20

2004- SF 26 B 42

2005- SF 26 B 20

And i know last year turnovers killed the tigers, but SF forced them so Friday might be closer than some think.

Good luck to both teams.

how is the former trojan speedster doing in sf,, im talking about taylor

He is doing pretty good seeing with the young o-line he has and is spliting time with Freshman Jonathan Avent, taylor had an 82 yard kickoff return for a td against gleason, but other wise he is doin fairly well and is very very talented. Him and Avent will be a great in a year or two with the young line they have now with

i think 1 senior, 1 junior, 2 sophmores, and 1 mosterous freshman Sam Curtis who is 6'5 260.

They are good compared to South Fulton....We'll see how good they are compared to Mayfield..I've lived in Obion County for 38 of my 40 years I know what kind of program Fulton City has or better yet doesn't have...I'll tell you this though...I see Fulton City beating Reidland,Ballard Mem. and Murray because they are awful...I have no idea what Metro Lutheran from Illinois has and the Fulton Co game would have to be a toss-up...

FC may hang with Mayfield this year. They are down a little compared to what they have been in the past, anyway BACK TO SF AND BRUCETON.

Hang as in how close??...5 touchdowns??...Seriously...Mayfield has lost to undefeated 9th ranked in 4A Marshall County and undefeated 4A Graves Co.....Mayfield will either play for the 1A state championship or at least make the semi-finals.... :thumb:

OK, anyway, who cares, there is no reason arguing over some KY teams. I know everyone has their own opinion but this is just getting stupid. Like i said, back to SF and Bruceton.

Sorry if i offended you by saying FC has gotten better and may be actually a really good team.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
