WAREAGLES53
i think that justin robison will for this game no doubt. he is one of the best o lineman i have seen in a while and he is a prime product of the weight room. sycamore 21-
bigtuck4242
That must be a Sycamore thing. Greenbrier's games have all been at 7:00 for years. We would only see 7:30 games when we went out of the county. Jo Byrns games have all been at 7:30, except the Halls game because it was such a far travel. Antwan
I am not about to start an argument about a game that was played in week three. Sycamore beat the Cubs 30-28 and there's no "if's", "and's", or "but's" about it. Austin Lohin, when healthy, is an absolutely amazing player. I told that young man, as well as his sister, that very same thing. Sycamore still has an outside shot at getting in the playoffs but this week is it. If they lose to either Greenbrier or Macon Co. during the next two weeks then they'll be sitting at home for good after week nine (remember they have a bye in week ten). That's also something that those players and coaches without question know heading into what should be an emotional "Homecoming 2006" school week. Sycamore is my alma mater and for that reason alone I will be biased this week and hope that they get it done on Friday night against a Greenbrier bunch that will be angry after their loss last week. Greenbrier is usually tough to beat coming off of a loss and I'm sure this week will be no different. Kirk Williams and his staff will have those young men ready to go and they'll bring a monster crowd, as usual, to Pleasant View on Friday night. As for the Region 5-3A vs Region 4-3A argument goes I will say something on this topic. Last year, 2005, 5-3A had three teams that could have very easily gotten to the 'Boro. Those teams were Creek Wood, Cheatham County, & of course Lipscomb (who did get there). Region 4-3A was good last year with Greenbrier, White House, & Pearl Cohn BUT in my honest opinion Region 5-3A was better from top-to-bottom. Marshall County, Giles County, & Page were all quality teams last year (while Region 4-3A was terrible at best after Macon & Sycamore). THERE WAS NO INSTANCE DURING THE SEASON LAST YEAR WHERE ANYONE FROM CHEATHAM COUNTY CENTRAL GRIPED & COMPLAINED ABOUT HOW THEIR REGION WAS "TOO TOUGH". This year Region 4-3A is better than 5-3A. Pearl Cohn and Station Camp could both be hosting in the semifinals for the right to play for a state title this year. White House, Greenbrier, Macon Co., & Sycamore are all quality teams. Region 5-3A really takes a big dropoff after Giles & Lipscomb. Creek Wood has looked good of late but they were still beaten by the #6 team from Region 4-3A (Sycamore). Does that automatically give Sycamore, or any other 4-3A team, the right to complain about how much tougher the region truly is?????? NO WAY!!!! Remember this is the same topic of discussion in which Harpeth fans were getting abused on just two weeks ago. In today's regions there are lots of teams that are considered to be "good" but just won't come near sniffing a state title because they play tough competition. On the other hand there are some regions out there where there might be a team that runs the table in the regular season BUT come playoff time comes they'll be gone in a hurry because they aren't used to playing "good" competition. THAT'S JUST MY OPINION ON THE SUBJECT!!!!! My...my...have things changed for the "Scrimmage Team of the Fall"? I tried to tell you our scrimmage with WH...and yours with DL didn't mean anything. You berated my team after the scrimmage loss to WH...and our freshmen gave up a td in the jamboree...and lost to Station Camp 7-3. That Station Camp team has turned out to be pretty good...huh? I don't see Sycamore beating Greenbrier and Macon...not gonna happen. Look at the bright side...you can look forward to defending your "Scrimmage Team of the Fall" title next year. HLfan68
i really hope wareagles53 isnt who i think it is after reading that post. but anyways that being said, whoever the orange fan from cheatham county is, i dont want to hear it. sycamore beat u this year so shutup. but i will also make the point, i believe cheathams coaching is much much better than sycamore. it has been ever since tommy tharp left SHS. sycamores seems to lose good coaches every year (tharp, boner, keasler, jones, etc.) while cheatham can keep at least their head coach and D-coordinator. sycamore has had a new defense EVERY year for the past 3 years i think. its hard for kids to learn a new system every year. but anyways enough of this. i would really like to see sycamore win tonight so i can make my way to macon next week to see them earn a shot at the playoffs. whoever is the most physical wins tonight. i wonder who that will be. War Eagles, get on here after the game and let me know what went down.
hudsonj
sycamore 19-17. congrats. good game that came down to the end just like i expected. Greenbrier we need to get it together. I don't wanna have to listen to everyone else have the fun on the radio come playoff time. lets get it together and win out.
GreenbrierCat2
Way to go Ziggy. That was beautiful. A thrilling start. Coaches, looks like we need to get back to defensive basics. That AIN'T Greenbrier football.
War Eagles
It was a hard fought game between both teams, but Sycamore got they win and they definitely deserved it. Lohin ran a QB-keeper in with less than 30 seconds to give Sycamore the win. With nice runs from Carrigan and Lohin, and Clanton and Holden coming up with big catches, that definitely gave the Sycamore offense a boost. Cannon also a had nice catch to keep the drive alive in the 2 minute drill. The O-Line for Sycamore tonight did a good job blocking and I wanted to recognize the O-line from Sycamore because their blocking doesn't show up on the stat sheet or in the newspaper. Defensively wise for Sycamore, they did pretty good, but they are going to have to tighten up more against Macon next week because they only lost to Station Camp tonight by 2 points. Sycamore's kickoff team could use a little work, too after giving up a TD return on the opening kickoff of the game. Anyways, that was a great win for Sycamore with it being a Region 4-3A win and keeping their "playoff hopes" ALIVE.
