He moved the required distance and resides in the new residence the majority of the time. Who knows what has changed? I'm still holding out hope everything will work out.

I'm guessing that this is the kink per the TSSAA by-Laws

Bona Fide Change of Residence – A move from one community to another that justifies a change of schools. Where a family continues to maintain a previous residence for the residential purposes of that family or any of its members, the move is not one that justifies a change of schools for purposes of the TSSAA Bylaws

Just spending time at the new place doesn't get it

That`s what I was wondering about. Merely renting and living in a new address does not cut it. (even buying a house for that matter)

Who's to say that the family didn't have to move but hasen't been able to sell their previous house yet? It just seems to me that if the kid lives in the house in milan, he should be in milan's schools and eligable to play ball here.

I guess the house would have to be for sale to be able to sell the house.

You mean like a snowbird living here in the winter and in Minn. in the summer? Whats a kid to do in that situation? That happens a lot. To escape the snow. Just curious.
