PHargis
Since we are down to close to the end of the season and maybe we are in the area of speculation as to how the matchups might be with the games that are left. White County has by far the toughest schedule and did last year and cost them dearly. White plays Siegel, Cookeville and Riverdale at the end of the season. If they lose all three, they will play the #3 seed, whoever that is at the end of the season. lebanon would play whoever is the 4Th seed. Warren will play the #! and Blackman will play the #2. Oakland's game with Cookeville is importqant for two reasons. Cookeville's loss could make second place a tie and Oakland's loss would give them no chance to tie for third if Siegel loses one of the games it plays. If Siegel wins all three, they could tie for second. The question might be asked "How do you play these last games of the season"? Certainly if a hard opponent is the first game of the tournament and a team plays that team, getting ready to play that opponent and beating them is important. So the third and fourth seeded teams have some time to do that. In the case of the 1 and 2, this year, it is not as important. And this last statement is the reason teams get beaten in the first round.

The point being made was many teams teams will play the team in the tournament they will play in the next three playdays and have a better chance against them in that it is more difficult to beat a team that you have beaten a couple of times before. In many cases its not, especially for a first seeded team. Thats why Tournaments are so interesting.

Then, if team A is playing team B again before the tournament and it is likely they will play again in the tournament, it might be better for team A to lose their last regular season game against team B because it would be harder to beat team B 3 times in a row? I hope that is not what you meant.

PHargis
On Feg. 2 Cookeville hosts a very good oakland team. Here are two good defensive teams with the fire power to provide and exciting game. A lot is riding on this game in many ways. An overtime is in the offering. Thats why Tournaments are so interesting. what i meant by starting the playoffs early is to win the games that helps you avoid playing a RIverdale right off the bat for example WC or blackman win their game to avoid playing us in the first round As far as your point about playing someone one and beating them a few times during the year i understand fully what you mean just ask the RIverdale girls softball team a siegel player hits a grand slam in the 7th inning or 6th to win the game and we travel to soddy daisy meanwhile we had already beaten them 3 or 4 times so i fully understand your point
