Taxman
why dont u spend your time learning how to make better brackets and run a tournament instead of getting on here telling me to not say anything about a kid like courtney coffee. it has been proven that he is a thief. he stole several ipods and other things from the kids at his school and then left before he could get into trouble. if coffee manages to go to college for football heck be one of those cases well read about in the paper in a few years about someone getting something bad done to them, i almost gavbe examples of what i think could happen but didnt incase i would lose my coacht membership. dont try and act like hes a good kid and has served his punishment he hasnt been punished the way a kid should and is definitely not a good kid. let me ask you this fiscon: would you let coffee sleep in your house with your family valuables? You would think Coach T would require scriveners to have at least a third grade writing level to post. Please purchase the Harbrace handbook for grammar because you are commiting a serious crime upon the English language. Lastly, your post infers that you have never been dishonest, lied, cheated or taken anything that was not yours...ever.

Let me ask you did your informed opinion come from being involved in the situation or from hearsay and this message board? From what I understand, from people who are involved in the situation, Courtney was never charged by the school or police with theft. In America, we do not convict people unless they have been charged and found guilty. What gives us the right then, to get on this board and abuse a kid over stuff we really do not know about, I think all of this discussion needs to end, if he is charged, which I understand he has not been, then let the courts settle it, it is not our right unless we are in the jury to make a decision or past judgement about this. I think this might be the opportunity for us to have a true idea of how our 2 division system compares to each other when you have in one bracket the potential for a 2x D2 state champion to face possibly 2 different D1 champions. Courtney will have a difficult road to the finals as will any kid in the state tournament. Reveiz and Birman are both capable of wrestling him down to the wire. Discuss what you think will happen in the state tournament, but lets not begin the debate over whether a kid who made some bad choices and in your words is a "theif" will be a life long criminal. All of us who have come through that time in our lives can look back and realize that we, too, did some questionable things. Let the kids decide it on the mat, and the law decide it in the courts. And the answer to your last question, is yes, if Courtney needed a place to stay, I wouldn't have a problem with it, or from the other thread David Mang, why? Because I know these kids, and they may have made some bonehead choices but we all have and we all got a 2nd chance. I am sorry for your bitterness. StarRaider
birman from cookville will give him all he wants in the quarters. that kid is a beast on the mat, strong with good leverage and good technique.
Cox
I know that the coaches at Centennial have done all they can to help get courtney mattime with lots of people. He has not practiced at MBA but the assistant at BGA was the HWT state champ in flordia and wrestled at Penn State and he has been working wiht him. Lets just hope that it enough. stovepipe
So, why did he transfer? He was recruited by Centennial. Next year they are D2.
my2cents
He also did not think to much of the technique of his opponents, or to let them know he has more state championships than they did. http://preps.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...08&game_id=
rigger101
He was tested the first match and had to take it deep into the third. He looked very tired. He had a freshman the 2nd march and had a quick pin. We will see tomorrow. Should be another test for the D-II champ.
rigger101
It would be great to hear how Courtney and Jay Adamson of ND would compare the D-I 3 day battles to the D-II mini tourney at State.
thelightsareon
I was proud of the effort Courtney gave in the finals. It was like seeing an icon go down. I think it is symbolic of everyone on this thread who tried to bring Coffee down when I saw him go down at state. I don't know about you but I'm done hearing about the negatives on this kid. I hope to hear good things that have come out of this situation and year. I hope to hear Courtney Coffee has learned something and he takes the higher road to success. God bless you Courtney! An icon? The symbolism, IMHO, is that substance doesn't count for much. If you're big and fast enough, a lot of folks will love and adore you and think of you as an icon.
