To me Gatlinburg-Pittman has kinda been flyin under the radar in 2A, undefeated going into week 10. I don't know much about them. How good are they? are they a legit contender, or did they play a weak schedule? Any info is welcomed. :P

Ive attended one of their games and... they are the real deal. These boys play hard and talk with their pads. On the other hand their schedule isnt the strongest, which could hurt them in the long run, so we will see how good they are in the playoffs.

Gp is a very good team. They are back to their usual physical play after a down year last year. They could make a mini run in the playoffs (Until they meet Alcoa). It is not their fault but they do play in one of the weakest 2A regions in the state. i think the lack of big regular season games hurts them in the playoffs. We will see, they haven't made it out of the first round in a while. Looks like GP and Sevier Co are going to have to represent the county well this year. Good luck to both.

Well after doin a little more research I have found that there opponents records for this season through week 9 comes to 22-68. That doesn't look very good on the resume, but theyplay who they have to play. Only 2 teams with winning records on the schedule are South Greene at 5-4 and Midway at 6-3, who they face this week. Guess we will have to wait until the play offs roll around to see how good they really are. Anyone think Midway will actually give them a game?

GP probably will make it until they play Alcoa, but they had their chance to play better teams in their non-conference schedule. For some reason, they chose not to. Also, will Seymour not be in the playoffs if they win? And what about PF? Oh, yea, I forgot.

Seymour will be in, but they will be facing a region 2 team. The chances of them winning that game are minimal. They could still host, I just think they will have a tough time with region 2. Sevier Co and GP both have a better chance of advancing. Nice cheap shot at PF. I guess I should know better than to give GP a compliment. Good luck anyway, we all have great kids in this county and it is nice to see them do well.

Midway should win.

I wasn't trying to make a cheap shot. I was just kidding. GP probably does have a great shot as long as Dodgen doesn't get hurt. Sevier Co. is playing lights out right now. Seymour, with a win, should be at home against either AE or Kingston. That will be a tough round 1. Good luck to all Sevier co. teams! :thumb:

Ha ha, the real deal? It depends on what you mean by the "real deal". I think of "real deal" as state championship contender. They will be very lucky to make it passed second round. Don't be to quick to look at their record. Meigs Co. also has a good record and they fit in the same catagory.

    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
    • Looks like Trent Noah was released from his NLI at South Carolina with intent to pursue playing closer to home. Kentucky and Louisville both reported to be in the mix for him now.
