u know, im not a big cheatham fan but im im tired of all of southsides bitching and moaning. u owe talked for a week about how easily u would win, and u should have lost. u did this 2 years ago when sycamore showed u who the boss was. maybe u all should consider the point that u arent the best team in the history of the universe and that maybe the reason u played bad was because the other team was pretty darn good.

Actually, SS fans and especially the football players have been very conservative in their opinions. I know for a fact the students are not "bitching and moaning". No one thinks they are the best team in the history of the universe. They are a great team, definitely the SS has ever seen. They played bad, simply because they had an off night. Cheatham is a tough team, but they've faced better this season.

Cheatham is a tough team, but they've faced better this season.

 

Henry Co. & JCM are the only two possibilities that could be compared to the Cubs from your schedule this year. I saw Lexington this year and they were big but they were not very physical at all and they were very un-athletic. Bolivar & Fayette Ware had some athletes but the Cubs would have beaten them both by 2TD's. Trust Me :thumb:

 

The Cubs did not play their best game by far this year. Had they done so they'd have beaten JSS 56-42 when all was said and done. They had two long pass completions fumbled away (the second one was on what would have been the go ahead TD drive with about 2 minutes left on the clock). The Cubs also dropped a sure TD pass. Heck they even missed a FG attempt just two plays later ;)

 

Jackson South Side's front seven is awesome on defense. They did a great job against the Cubs running game. #'s 2, 79. 77, 56, & 65 are some hosses. Where JSS is struggling is that secondary. #'s 7 (a good QB) & especially 10 are not good defensive backs at all. The Cubs had receivers running wide open all night long back there and Christmas was picking them apart.

 

OH WELL!!! The game is over. It was a classic and will be talked about for a while I guess. Let's move on to round two of the playoffs please. Best of Luck to JSS the rest of the way but as a Region 5-3A team I've got to support all of the 5-3A representatives left in the playoffs.

The state champion is NOT coming out of region 6!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, South Side's win has really been a bitter pill for you to swallow. So sad.

      If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.

      You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
