Of Course DII AAA is the best in the state. That is why they were put in there own division. There is no comparison to the level of competition they play each week. It is survival of the fittest in DIIAA and the best team in the state wins thier State Championship.

I agree with mofo- if you look at the teams the Owls have played and their losses vs DII AA teams it puts things in perspective.

Just because Ooltewah beat a team by 3 points in week 0. That team loses to someone PJP2 beat doesn't mean didley squat. In 4a... Marville beat Brainerd 30-26... Red Bank beat Brainerd 76-6... So that means Red Bank should whoop Maryville by 60+points... ummm nooo. Farragut lost to Powell who Webb has beaten who pjp2 has lost 2 games to has nothing to do with anything. Farragut also beat Bearden 2 times who beat Powell who lost to Webb who beat PJP2....

All i was doing with the schedule comparisons was showing you that PJP2 plays a tough schedule. Infact i would say even a tougher scheadule then the best 5a team in the state acording to ImaOwl. So somone from Ootlewah can not say that Golden did not play against good competition. Father Ryan, Goodpasture, ECS, MBA, and Webb are good teams if you like it or not. If Ootlewah played any of thoes teams it would be there hardest game of the year thus far. In no way am i saying that Ootlewah is not a real good team but for some reason people seem to think just because they have more students attending there school they have to be the better team.

Also im having trouble following the sequence of games you have listed...

1. PJP2 split with Webb 33-34, 24-16

2. Powell did not play bearden

So you are saying that the #1 team in 5a with a 11-0 record that is in one of the hardest if not the hardest regions in 5a would go 6-4 with JP II schedule...... Who would they lose to? Knox Webb? St. Benedict? MBA?... Please... JP II is in dII-AA not II-AAA...... Big difference...

Golden Tate is a great player. I've watched some film of him on the internet. Good size and speed but he is not playing in the best classification.....

Golden Tate would dominate against any team. You saw what he did to Goodpasture this year (4td's) and Goodpasture can hang with any 5-A team in the state.

agreeed

I dont see him being near the star if he was at a 5A school. I still think he is good and has accoplished alot of great goals.

But if he is in 5A ,which is a lot tougher than D2, i dont see him being near the star that he is.

Throw him up with the big boys and see if he can play some big boy football

Good Luck Golden and i hope Football takes you far.

You people crack me up.You are the very people that was crying and picthing fits to have these schools play in different divisions. How soon people forget a few years ago how no regular high school could win a championship for these teams. All the fuss to make them play for there own state title in there own class. Now you all want to say how 5-a football is the toughest and most competitive. :thumb: Bring them back in then and less see how many titles the 5a schools win. And as far as the so called powerhouse of the owls, you havent played nobody. A very weak schedule and we will see just how good they are this week. Give the kid his just do, hes extremely talented and has worked hard. And yes he would have done just as good if not better in 5a.I say better, because then he would only play 3 or 4 really good teams a year instead of one every week.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
