No one is saying he isn't good. People just stated that they would like to see him play better competition and see how he does. How big is this kid and was position does he play?

And what the Div. II guys are telling you is he is playing in the best competiton. Div. II is the best ball. I don't understand how you guys say that he does not play the best competition? 5'11 195-200 4.4 40 Vertical 37" (and his best sport maybe baseball). WR/Athlete.

My son plays at another school, but have met Golden a couple of times and he is a class act. I certainly look forward to seeing him play at the next level and perhaps compete in baseball later--Good Luck with Webb and hopefully both our teams can play back to back in Murfreesboro on the 18th--But I caution both teams--the competition Friday must be dealt with 1st--Good Luck to DA, PPII, and BA the rest of the year! Best of luck to the mid state teams!

Thanks, by the time I get home from taping and broadcasting (Left Columbia last Friday at 9:48 AM to do the Ryan/Christian Brothers Game and got back home at 12:30 AM Saturday) I kind of lose interest in the site for a couple of days.

I've got some major things coming up for the winter and next year and a major new look for my site will be one!

Goodluck to the Owls, now back to Golden Tate.

If any of you want to see video of him you can view it at:

Well I would love the Owls to take a chance and play in D-II for two years and see how they fair. Some people look at things and have no idea what they are talking about. I would even let them have JP II schedule this year. I say 6-4 or 7-3 IMO. What do you think IMAOwl?

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
