This just in:

- Knox Fulton '06 will not be playing Pearl Cohn '96...as previously reported by unreliable sources!

- "Big" John Henderson will not be hanging up his Jags jersey to return for a possible extra year of eligibility. Beard will not try to sneak back into the Firebird locker room on Friday to add to his rushing stats.

Instead the Firebirds '06 version will face the Falcons of '06 (novel idea). No one really cares about the ’96, ‘97 Firebirds or the ’02, ’03, ’04 Falcons, this game is about the here and now and about who can carry the torch for 3A in 2006.

You can talk all you want about heart (neither team would be in this position without heart and determination)...this game will be determined by the team that can stop the others big play ability and adjust best to the speed of the game, because it is sure to be a track meet on turf.

According to all the "self proclaimed" pundits, these two teams are loaded with speed and skill on both sides of the ball. Who will be the first to flinch and which team will best overcome a possible big breakdown on defense?

One thing is for sure, Fulton is the best program that East TN 3A has to offer (and has been most of the new millennium), and they have been here before and are sure to bring the noise on Friday!

Good Luck Falcons...All of KTown is rooting for you to bring home another GOLD BALL!!!

I believe that was established there are just some out there re-living the "good 'ole days"

PC will bring the noise not only on the field but they have an exceptionally large band that can bring the noise as well. It's a treat in itself to witness them in person when you go to see a high school football game at Pearl-Cohn.

Hey Turtle, too bad CoachT doesn't reach to heaven because I'm sure somebody has a message for you. Oh well, I'm glad to see you are sort of pulling for the Falcons even though you really don't want to. Although, we don't really need your half-hearted support.

Yeah, I know and I'm sort of glad because I already know what would be said :D . But I have to support my former players so I try to cheer for them when dem ROADRUNNER boys not playing. You know how we do it.. But like I said, the best of luck to you if you don't want to accept it oh well.. But until August 2007, GO ROADRUNNERS ;)

PC is not my team I am just rooting for them now because I want a Region 4-3A representative to play a Region 5-3A representative (David Lipscomb) in a possible all Nashville Blue Cross Bowl Showdown in two weeks ;)

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone and to the folks from Knoxville have a safe trip to and from Nashville :)

That is odd why would you want that your team plays fulton every year.

Game time is getting closer and closer....... And as for predictions the team who wants it the most is the victor. I know pearl wants a big W. you gotta love being a huge underdog and knowing that you are being underestimated. thats the best feeling in the world. I cannot make a prediction but i can say who wants it the most will get it. and I hope its going back to 4-3a. :)

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
