Well, that's what these polls are for...for people to differ. We were all saddened by his untimely and tragic death. Too many teenagers pass...

 

I know that is a disproportionate number of players but it's hard to argue against any of them. I don't think it is a secret that BA has had the best athletes in DII for quite a while. Up until this year, they just had a tough time getting all the right pieces in the right places.

I talked with Will Bartholomew (MBA) yesterday........really a nice, polite guy.......I saw him play in HS and thought he was bigger than when I met him..........I remember him looking HUGE in a uniform at MBA and UT........he is still a "big boy" but he appeared 5-11 at best.......I am 6'1/2 inch.......I was suprised. He is doing great things with D-I in Cool Springs........If D-II was around when he was there, he would be on my list......or WAS D-II AAA around??????

His last year of football at MBA was in 1996, the year before DII play began.

That settles it for me. A lot less BA and more McCallie! On the other hand, you know how all the voters have it in for BA, so they've allowed their well documented (at least on this venue) prejudices against that bastion of academic excellence to color their selection process.

I'll be submitting the current votes to the powers-that-be at the conference tonight. We'll have to wait and see how much longer votes will be allowed.

It looks as if the team is close to being announced, and a heckuva team it is. The accomplishments of these players while in high school, combined with their accomplishments after their high school days, make a pretty impressive list.

A worthy candidate, for sure, but the fan voters did not vote him in the top 2 (he tied for 6th at RB).
